Is the US government doing all it should to fight terrorism or is it acting excessively or not doing enough?

hmm lets see;
we have a couple mile wide strip on our border that any immigrant can just walk right on through with little trouble whatsoever, carrying any kind of dirty bomb in their backpack.

we have ports that are completely ungaurded from attacks from boat laden with explosives.

we have a food supply that has very little security, and can be wiped out with organisms that spread easily, quick, and are easy to transport. Water towers just standing there waiting for anyone to climb them and pop them open.

We have China claiming to have "lost" a large amount of Uranium. They can track radioactivity, but not a radioactive substance??

There still is no contingency plan for trouble on airplanes as most other countries already had prior to september 11th.

Pathogen research labs still located in high populated areas...that is all I'll say about that matter.

Still no chemical markers in explosive materials.

The root of our terrorist problem, the real terrorists, are still free, throwing their pawns at our troops.

oil profits are still being used by terrorist supporting countries to...well you know.

our government, once again is providing weapons to countries that can be our enemy tomorrow....

....all the while our goverment feels the need to spy on Americans, while bridges and overpasses are falling on our heads.

and people who think the biggest issue is gay marriage, which are the same people who see freedom as a national security threat.

Of course they aren't. They only fight fight terrorism where they have an economic interest. Take Ireland for instance. there is still a terror organisation there which will not give up its weapons and continues to continue in terror activity. The IRA have decommissioned but the UDA have not. Why are the US not offering the british some troops to root these guys out?

Take Spain, several African countries, several countries in the South Pacific and SE Asia. All these countries have terrorists hiding in them but they don't have oil!!!!

I think we are doing all we can with the forces we have. Now if the nut jobs would quit their whining and crying about a war they voted on, then we would be more successful. Insulting our troops, the fallen, and the Iraqi government are not allowing us to gain morale. Instead it's just giving the terrorists more reason to continue killing the innocent, and killing our troops. We are doing what we can, war takes time, casualties, and it's not pretty. Freedom is not free, nor will it ever be. I'm all about world peace, but will that happen no, and do I think that war is necessary? Hell yes.

yes, we are spending $300 billion a year fighting the terrorists in Iraq who want to destroy America!!! The Sunnis are attacking the Shia. The Shia are attacking the Sunni. Both are attacking the Kurds. Some of them are even Al Qaida. These are very bad people. As long as we provoke them over there to kill each other over there, we'll be safe. Trust me!
