For me it's been an enemy. Obsessing over guys = bad. Obsessing over being perfect = bad. I suppose there is a way to focus on something in a healthy manner, but I don't know what that is yet.

To me it can be both. It depends over the situation. For example, If you are obsessed with a member of the oppisite sex but they care nothing for you it is an enemy because its just hurting you knowing you will never be with them. But if you were obsessed with somthing such as helping people then it would be a friend. :-)

first an enemy then a friend. you have to get obsessed to something to learn the real danger of an addiction. once this happened, it is a friend. you learned from it. but whenever you are practicing obsession, it is most certainly bad. its just like crossing the line.

I think if the obsession is all you have then it becomes your friend. you begin to occupy yourself with the obsessive behavior. ( Ultimately the entire situation is an enemy to growth and development ) So yes it becomes a friend and enemy.

That is a tough question in as much as it has the potential to go either way. Personally I think that it is a friend and will remain a friend providing that it does not neglect other aspects of ones life to the point where one becomes miserable and unable to function. When it reaches this point it becomes an enemy.

Obsession is the friend of boredom and loneliness. Nothing worse than a silent mind to one who is bored or alone.

both. if the obsession is directed towards a healthy endevour , such as inventing a light bulb, great. obsession with another human being is destructive in that it eats at the fabric of your being.

It depends on what it is motivating you to do. But I tend to think that its more of an enemy - blinding your logic and making you do things it wants you to do, rather than what you should do.
