College. It's not even close for me.
I've been in big time college and NFL game-day environments. It's not even close. I know a lot of NFL fans are passionate, but at a major college game, the crowds are raucous. And especially for alumni & students, there is this strong family type bond that you feel with your fellow fans.
NFL is the daddy in all of American pro sports, and I enjoy it a lot. But you cannot beat the tradition and the pageantry that exists at major college programs. Also, when teams are gunning for the championship, EVERY GAME matters! You gotta come with it each and every week. The regular season is magnified. In the NFL you can drop a few during the regular season and still be in good playoff position.

College, High School, then the NFL. With players jumping ship so often in the NFL, the rivalrys are gone to everyone except the media. College has tradition, rivalrys, and the best atmosphere in sports. Go to a Notre Dame game, or Nebraska, or Texas A&M, or any SEC game to see the excitement of college football. I can't get excited over a Houston - Arizona game. Being in Oklahoma, High School football is bigger than the NFL.

In my opinion college football far exceeds the NFL. The reason I feel this way is that the players at the college level are still trying to make a name for themselves. And the NFL players are all fighting over the credit deserved. While a good majority of college players know they will never play Pro ball and yet they still go out and play. The NFL players are crying because they are not satisfied making 3 million dollars. The college level is still team oriented which is always great. And lastly have you ever been to a Game at(LSU) Tiger stadium on a Sat. night or any college game for that matter, I've been to a few Pro games at various NFL games and the atmosphere and excitement just isn't as strong as a college game. But that is just my open

College football and basketball are businesses for the colleges just as the pro teams are businesses for the owners. There is more "electricity" and excitement in a college game and seems to be more of a team sport. The game moves faster than the pros. There does need to be a better playoff system to determine the nations best. Pro games are more show by "superstars" and too much arguing with the refs. The games are slower with less action. I like both levels of competition and really can't say which is better, it is like comparing apples and oranges.

I like both...but by far I prefer college. I think there is more heart in the game and more passion overall when millions of dollars arent involved. Im not saying all pro players arent passionate and play with heart but their are a few who just dont care as long as they get paid.
Also the fan base and the atmosphere make it so much better. College atmosphere is so much more intense and exciting and partially because as much as people dont like the bcs it makes sure that EVERY game matters. Also, rivalries in college football are great. Tailgating to every game is a big part also.
I guess it depends on your age too. Alot of younger people will like college better than the pros. possibly because they go to college.

I like the NFL better for a number of reasons. Not only because it is faster, stronger, more skilled, more intense, and over all more impressive, but also because of a lot of other reasons.
Firstly, the NFL is close knit, meaning practically every team directly or indirectly affects every other team. There's only 32 teams, and thus it's easier to keep track of. There's never any dispute over who's number one, two, etc. the numbers make sense, the PLAYOFFS make sense, the super bowl works.
Not only do I appreciate the structure more, but also I appreciate the players themselves. In college a guy is good for what, 2 or 3 years max? And then he's gone. In the NFL it isn't unheard of to see a guy play for over a decade. You get to know the players better, you get more familiar with them.
There's also a structured drafting system in the NFL. Good teams aren't good forever, nor are bad teams bad forever. In college I'm not seeing that.
Don't get me wrong, I like college, but it just isn't comparable to the NFL. The whole "Tradition" "Alumni" "School spirit" thing is all college has going for it.
And quite honestly I'm sick of hearing "They play it for the love of the game" as a college exclusive. How in the hell do you think the players in the NFL got there? Where do you think they came from? You don't get into the NFL by hating the sport.
Another thing I'm sick of is the "Bad apples" claim to the NFL, as if there weren't any in college. Miami vs FIU anyone? And because of the whole 3 or 4 scumbags that make headlines in the NFL, people forget what good is being done by the vast majority of the NFL's players.
And lastly and most importantly, the best of the best in your favorite league is the bottom of mine. So have fun with the false impression that you're part of the team because you go to their college and blast that fight song all day long, I'll stick with what's best, and that's the NFL.

Well......I like both, but my favorite is College. You can't beat the traditon, rivalries, and the bands of college football Saturdays. I love the UNC Tarheels, eventhough the are rebuilding, but you got to love your teams no matter what, and thats what makes college football standout of the NFL. Yeah the NFL is the best of the best, but if you notice whenever the college players go pro, they lose their spunk for the game, as far as wanting it as much. Thats why you see alot of upsets in college sports, because the fans dont let the their schools back down, I love it man!

For me it's college for a lot of the reasons already stated. All pro sports tend to get on my nerves with players jumping ship to other teams to win that Super Bowl, World Series or NBA title. There seems to be less loyalty year in and year out. Also the amount of players getting in trouble with the law is getting to be outrageous. Vick, Pacman, the entire Bengals squad. I hate the fact that when I tune into Sportscenter the main story is what this player plead guilty to and how much time he's going to get. I know that college has it's fair share of bad apples as well but that's to be expected with 119 programs out there.

Each year the leverage is shifting more and more toward college football as the one that has more true excitement and innovation !!
It seems that -- as time passes and the NFL becomes log jammed with over paid -- self-centered -- rabid personalities - the game is suffering and becoming more of a Hollywood scam than a game !! You can watch these guys performance go to hell in a handbag with time -- as the "good life" begins to take its toll on them and their drive to excel becomes more of a "aren't you glad you got to see me" thing !!!
With college -- these guys are HUNGRY for that "good life" and the millions -- and they are playing all out to get at it !!!
Makes for a much more enthusiastic performance and some stunning plays !!!
