I tend to listen to conservative talk radio and have been trying to listen to liberal talk radio to see what arguments they have regarding terrorism, illegal immigration, drugs, religion, etc. So far, I've noticed that conservative talk radio tends to spread their issues out more and do not just focus on politicians, but the topics I just mentioned. Whenever I try to listen to liberal talk radio (such as Mike Malloy, Stephanie Miller, or Randi Rhodes), it's always something about how they hate Bush. They hate Bush and his administration. Fine. I get that. But I don't need to hear it all the time.
So is there anyone who can refer me to a liberal talk radio host who actually speaks about other important issues or am I being proven right that it's pointless to listen to liberal talk radio?

**I'm actually surprised that a lot of people are mentioning Rush Limbaugh. I actually dislike the man myself.
I listen to Jeff Katz, Michael Savage, Brian Sussman, Armstrong and Getty, and Glenn Beck among others. You'd be surprised how many of them, especially Savage, criticize other conservatives and issues, but no one will want to hear it.
Eric I is a perfect example, saying I'm probably blind to all issues that he mentioned, when in fact, I'm looking for more information regarding those topics. But as I mentioned before, I hear Bush bashing. The mines in Utah collapsed, it's Bush's fault. The Bridges in Minnesota collapsed, it's Bush's fault. My dog threw up this morning, it's Bush's fault (that last one's a joke, chill).
I understand the guy's not a great man. But that's not what I want to hear 24/7.

I wouldn't say its pointless
When you put a limit on your information, you limit your knowledge.
If you observe both sides with an open mind. You are able to notice the slant and notice the BS.
Then you form your own individual stance based on what you have learned.
I encourage both sides to do this regardless if they agree or disagree.

This is why liberal radio fails. And this is why politicians hate conservative radio, because conservative radio actually talks about news that does not show up in TV news or Newspaper news that most liberals edit and have the last say in. People want to hear the news not personal views for 3 hours from the same person talking about how they hate Bush and Republicans, then provide no reasons why they do. In fact, that liberal radio company Jane Fonda and some other woman made for women, has recently failed. It has not even been running for a year and already failed! Air America the same way. Did you know Alec Baldwin once had a radio program? Out of the three hours of his radio show he had not even 5 callers call in and at one point he resorted to calling his mother and interviewing her for some reason. This is why Radio dominates over TV and Paper news.

Ed Schultz talks about a wide variety of issues. I enjoy his show for that very reason. It is varied, he doesn't screen calls at all so you get to hear both sides of issues, and even though he openly states he leans to the left, he isn't so far left that he does see and understand the other side. It isn't all completely political based every day. But I do think you are wrong in one respect. I also listen to many conservative talk shows and most of them suffer from the same thing you accuse progressive talk shows of ....... ranting and raving about their topic of the day, and that topic is more often than not, liberal bashing. Limbaugh is a prime example, the guy gets annoying for his total lack for seeing anything other than the far right. So it goes both ways.

well... it's different issues...
liberals talk about issues like global warming, guns, healthcare... the Bush administration and their policies (they often have a point, not just "Bush is stupid"... and if you listened to Rush during Clinton's term, there was a LOT of Clinton bashing, also with points, just saying)
they don't focus on the "conservative issues" as much, because they are conservative issues... what exactly do conservatie hosts say about illegals, drugs and religion anyway? what little I watch them, it seems to be the same talking points Rush was saying in the early 90s? they've added terrorism though... granted...
I've noticed conservatives saying these things before... complaining about people not talking about "issues" when they are only not talking about "conservative issues"... there are MANY other issues than the ones you mention...

If you listen very carefully to callers to conservative talk radio programs who criticize Bush, and bring up valid points about his hypocracy or incompetence, you will notice that the host will do one of two things: 1) ask the caller who he/she voted for in the last election or 2) question the caller's patriotism with some contrived accusation. I'm not saying that liberal talk radio is any more fun to listen to, but the Hannitys, Limbaughs, Savages, et. al. are very thin-skinned. I think in their heart of hearts they know that Bush is a worthless cause, but they hitched their star to his wagon and repudiating him would cause them more damage with their audience than just having an intellectual "come to Jesus" about how their hero sold them down the Conservative river.

This question just shows you how one sided the Conservatives really are. Listen to NPR all of the Issues are discussed. Source: http://www.npr.org/
I noticed that no Conservative was willing to pony up the opposition link to the truth.

You heard what you wanted to hear on those shows. If noting any one can say will change your mind because you are only going to see what you see.
You are probably as blind about Iraq war, the Federal Budget, tax breaks for the rich, the increase in poverty, and many other things.
The reason why the conservatives are going to loose big in the next election is because they are full of people like you that think a lie is better than the truth as long as it is what you want.

I listen to the Allan Colmes show to get a liberal perspective. Even though there are not a lot of facts to back his socialist agenda he at least tries to use logic and reason to make his point. I have to admit he has changed my mind on a few issues.
I believe that is why Air America failed, the hosts just ranted on about how they hated Bush. They have the right to their opinion but it is extremely boring.
