the reason why Vick took the plea is that the prosecutor was going to add a charge to the indictment that if he had been found guilty of he could have been sentenced for more than 20 years. and everyone know that one year served is one year and 20 is 20

Given the evidence against him it is unlikely he could have beaten the charges and the longer the court case drug out the more humiliating it would be. If the Prosecutors agreed to reduce the charges in exchange for the guilty plea then in his place, yeah I would take the deal. There is still no guarantee that he will get off with a light sentence. Being the money man behind the enterprise makes him the ringleader of the conspiracy rather than an unfortunate victim of bad association. A hard line Judge could still throw the book at him.

i think that he chose well. I have seen most of the athletes that have been caught red handed and tried to enter a plea of not guilty and then have to serve a much harsher sentence. The best way for him to get out of it was to fess up. I think that the NFL is going to be more likely to forgive him since he came out and gave his guilty plea. I think he will serve a minimal sentence and then be suspended for about a year or so after which he will be allowed to play again.

If I had three so-called friends who were going to roll over on me to save their sorry @sses, I would have no choice but to get the best deal I could. I would also pray that the judge doesn't max me out on the illegal gambling charge, cause that would end my career (if I was him). Now I just have to hope I can cut a deal with the Virginia state attorney general before they pile on even more.

Probably, because the evidence against and the the charges that could have been filed as a result would have landed him in jail a lot longer.

"I think people are gonna love me know matter what I do, I'm Michael Vick". That said, hell no, I'm not pleading... I'll just send the judge some autographed footballs and he'll let me go back to da crib, no?
