yes, i have it for our dog. and it's paid for itself. if i could get it for our diabetic cat, i would.

any litle problem and the insurance pretty much pays for itself. but one major problem (like eyelid problems or stomach tursion) and insurance will be our only saving grace

I don't even have health insurance for myself. A few years ago, I had a dog that was very sick. Cancer had taken over her entire body. Only because she was a Pit Bull and tough as nails, she was still capable of living. Only a very limited, painful life. I've never had the heart to be able to put down an animal. I don't believe in it. If we can't put people to death when they are sick, what gives us the right to do so with a dog? Any way, at the time I was working for GE and tried to put my dog under my health care plan as the meds were getting rather expensive. Getting anyone to even call you back when inquiring about health care for an animal is near to impossible.

With the high cost of vet care, it makes sense. I was considering it for my two dogs, but we also just took in three new stray kittens, so I will definitely be getting them insurance. I can't begin to imagine how high the cost would be for emergency or major vet care nowadays. No sense waiting for something catastrophic to happen (gawd forbid!) and drain the bank account before preparing with insurance.

I have pet insurance on my cats and it saves me quite a bit at the vet. It only costs $20 a month and it is worth it.
