The worst thing is 18 year olds whose parents assume no more responsibility for them and even worse when their parents can afford to help pay their college, but they don't because the gov. doesn't give grants or loans to kids whose parents can afford it. So, these kids are left not able to afford college, not skilled enough to get better than a near minimum wage job, can't afford a vehicle, don't have the credit to get a vehicle, same with an apartment. They need to be helped as much as possible when they are set on their own and they need to be taught in highschool how very hard it is to set your life. When a child graduates high school, the next few years plan the rest of their lives and they need to understand that and face the real world with a knowledge of how to be successful.

Accidents. More specifically, road accidents. I'm 17 and the road toll is so bad in Australia that I was sitting in a room with only 19 other 16/17 year olds and told 'atleast 1 of you will not be around in 10 years'.
Recently the RTA made it so L platers have to do 120 hours instead of 50, over 12 months instead of 6 (before they can go for their P's). Lets hope this works.

I think the number one problem facing teenagers is drugs and alcohol as well as sex. There is too much advertising and TV shows regarding these issues. Maybe in 10 years this might be different.

There r so many problems... but I think lack of interaction with their parents, who are too busy to spare some time for them. Family is being treated as primary school for the children & when children enter in teenage period they become more confused when they face new face of the society. I think this is the time when they require guidance from their family members...... & they feel alone under problems when they see themselves alone..... this is the no. I problem.....so don't keep alone yr children when they enter in such age....

Ignorance. If they would be encouraged to open their eyes and actually think critically, they would quickly arrive at the truth.
Instead, they're fed a batch of baloney that involves feeling good about oneself (when one doesn't merit it), believing based on emotions rather than logic, and doing things for reasons they don't really follow.
And that's just in the public schools.
