Receive one as a gift, win one, or steal one.

You might be able to get a cast off from a company eliminating old inventory, but you would probably have to have an in at that company.

If you are referring to the free computer offers that are plastered all over online, they will wind up costing you something, assuming it isn't one of the flat out scams.

is used okay?
look in the ads in your local newspaper.
you may find a used computer for very cheap, not totally free, but very cheap.
also, try yard/garage sales. you can find some good things (like computers) there sometimes.

on garbage night scour the neighborhood and pick one up that someone is tossing out, alot of times people upgrade and just throw their old one away, or people cant fix a messup and get a new one, when you do find one and cant repair it yourself take it to a computer shop, it will be lots cheaper that way
