It would have to be Abraham Lincoln...Boy, did he go through literally HELL being President and trying to free the slaves...and he knew he was going to be KILLED FOR IT....but he felt it was the right thing to do...also 3 out of his 4 children died also...and he lost many, many elections...his life was very sad...But, he still REFUSED TO GIVE UP...i know i would have given up a long time ago....He just put what he could behind him and KEPT TRYING...WHICH IS A LOT HARDER FOR MOST OF US....and kept going...But the poor man...tried sooo very hard and got assasinated for it...wasn't society brutal????...he was a very good man...but went through a lot...but hardly ever mentioned it...I read a lot about Lincoln and did a report on him...and cried...he has a lot of STRENGTH!!!

I don't have a favorite. How effective a politician is depends on world events and how many brain cells they have and if they have the courage of their convictions. I don't think many politicians have any courage or convictions other than the jail time kind.
