Ok so I am trying to loss weight and lots of it and I have lost a few pounds already by just trying to eat when I'm hungry and only when I'm hungry. I had a slice of pizza tonight for dinner around 6 o'clock and I am not hungry. I am very proud of myself for only having one when I usially have like 3 big slices. But anyways there are lots of left overs and I really just want to eat a little because it really good pizza and I want some more than ever! So my question is how do I stop myself from going and nibbling on that pizza. Thanks and please hurry I need answers fast!

You're doing great hunny. Think of something that you want to do when you lose that weight. an outfit you want to wear, a sport you want to play or something like that. something that you want more then you want pizza. hope that helps. good luck!!

Okay this is not a fun fast answer, but it is the truth! If you want the dang pizza that bad get it! Just get a bite or 2. your need and or desire to lose wieght is not going to be fixed by a glass of water instead, eating or not eating it. I had a great body that i worked very hard to keep in shape. I got older, I had kids, I got fat! I lost it, I got fat again! THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS IN THE LONG RUN........Is just setting your mind to it, it can be as hard as stopping smoking or drugs, but can be done when you set your mind to it. If you want to lose in a hurry, then sure eat lots of fresh veggies and some lean protiens, drink lots of water and make yourself get exercise of some kind every morning. If you want to lose and maintain for a lifetime.......gradually change bad habits and add good ones. There are so many things you can drink or take, so many diets you can do. Yes they work in some way or another, but will it work for you?? Will it work for you next week? Next month? So for right now do you want the dam* pizza or not simple as that. How bad do you want it? For the long run find bad habits, like eating late maybe.....nibbling whatever yours may be....and start breaking them. Add the good ones, like atleast 64 oz of water a day.....cut out a sugar or white starch that you think you can live without.... it will become habit, you will slowly lose and not gain. Most women gain wieght every year even 5 lbs, but it ads up. so does losing 5. Good luck......maybe some hot tea of some kind or some gum can help you tonight. Oh yeah..... one thing i do with pizza..... i will just eat the top, lol....not much of the crust, but that works for me, may not work for you.

Drink a glass of water. If that doesn't work, go for a walk, or read a book, or knit, find something to keep your hands busy. If after that you are still craving the pizza, cut a small bite or two out and heat it up (if you like your pizza hot) and eat it. Then wrap the rest of it in foil, like four or five times, in a manner such that you will have to rip all of the foil to get at the pizza again. You probably won't want to do this, so you will wait until it is time to have more pizza tomorrow. Keep up the good work! Sometimes you just have to give in to your cravings, or you just end up eating everything in the house and then the pizza, so sometimes it is better to just have the pizza, to satisfy the craving rather than trying to satisfy it with something else, which doesn't work. You could also try brushing your teeth, this helps me because then I'm too lazy to want to have to brush my teeth again, so I just won't eat anything until bed time. Plus, it gets that pizza taste out of your mouth, which may help end the craving.

Eat. If you go around hungry all the time, you will binge and that could lead to purging which = eating disorder. If you want to lose weight, do it in a healthy way.
.

But if you diet right, you'll only lose about a pound a week. Otherwise, you leave yourself open to gaining that weight back even while you're still trying to lose the weight. Eat healthy portion sizes and exercise. At least 30 mins of cardio 3 days a week and on the alternating days, lifting weights.

You'll also keep your immune system healthy if you diet "right". The kraftfoods link is to a chart of proper portion sizes. It's best to eat more veggies than fruit and more complex carbs than simple carbs, since the veggies and complex carbs work together with protein to keep your blood-sugar levels from going too high or dropping too low. This gives you consistent energy throughout the day and actually will help you eat less. Drink 8-10 8-ounce glasses of water a day. No sodas/cokes/pop. Even diet ones. They actually are very bad for you. And eating 6 small meals a day is better to help you lose weight. It speeds up your metabolism and keeps your body from going into "famine mode" (discussed on the primusweb site.)

Hope you can find something in the links to help you set up a healthy diet and exercise routine.

Good luck!

I have the same problem and can't suggest anything for controlling your urges to eat. But it will help if you eat healthy. Most likely the pizza is very high in fat. You should exercise and try to eat a low fat diet, probably low carb and high protein also, which is what I am trying to do. If you snack on fruits, vegetables, even low fat popcorn, it is better than eating a lot of extra pizza.

I lost 18 pounds in 9 months eating healthy and exercising, and was even able to eat some junk on occasion. But I gained back 10 of those pounds in the next 6 months by slacking off on the exercise, and eating far too much junk in addition to the healthy stuff. So now I'm trying to go all-out, but my portions are still too large and I'm going to try to cut back a little bit. I cook and freeze my own lunch for work, and most of my dinners (in large batches to save time), so I think next time I'll reduce the portions slightly and see how it goes.

Get some plastic bags and put one slice in each one. Then stick them in the freezer. This way you can pull out ONE slice and only eat that. But your better meal would be a salad. You can pretty much eat as much of that as you want. Also, instead of ice cream, get some Cool Whip Lite and eat a couple of spoonfuls of that every now and then. It only has 20 calories in 2 tablespoons and only 3 grams of carbs. But that doesn't mean you can eat the whole tub at one sitting! Just have a spoonful or 2 as dessert or whenever you want something sweet. And good luck.

Put all the pizza out of sight and try snacking on a pear or some mangos! I find eating fruits after dinner as dessert, instead of sweets, more satisfying. Also having water or hot tea might rinse ur mouth of that yummy pizza after taste so, maybe that would keep you from craving more. Good luck. =)

meh, don't worry about it, just go lift some weights for strength training a bit when you're done. . . you need protein in order to do this, and if you're worried about getting too fat just eat more fruits and veggies, and cut back on bread, that does the trick. Most of what people think about food is bs. Eaint a lot of lean protein with tons of fruits and veggies, some carbs when you feel like you're starving, and lifting weights and getting in a moderate bit of cardio is all you need to do.

I'm working on two whole large pizzas to myself tonight, and I am NOT overweight.

btw, don't try to cut out carbs entirely, you need them to keep your brain operating properly, but what you eat in fruits if you're getting enough will mostly cover this anyway. . . bread is ok, just not 10 servings every day or whatever crazy number the food guide recommends

Well, I don't know how much this helps, but when I was dieting (I lost about 60 lbs.), I would take some solace in the hunger pangs I would get...it's a good sign that your body is burning unwanted fat...as for "pleasure" eating, sometimes looking up the ingredients in the food you are about to consume makes your choice look yucky. dailyplate.com is a good resource for calories in just about any food. Finding hobbies (that you can not do while eating but enjoy, like beading, Yoga, just about any craft or musical instrument) that you enjoy helped me a lot. Also, try writing....a good way to look back and see what works for you and what doesn't. Hope what you try works!

Good luck. I need to loose 5 or 6 lbs myself. Pizza is tempting that 's why I never buy it unless I share it with friends. I always put it in a baggie for lunch the next day.

Leave the house - go for a walk (take the dog if you have one). When you get back immediately fill up on water & go & do something. DO NOT WATCH THE TV. Read a book. Phone a friend. Go through magazines & pick out clothes you want to buy once you have lost your weight. DO NOT WATCH THE TV.
