Yes. He doesnt deserve to be a role model for anybody. He is a sociopath who murders innocent animals for fun. I really dont know how anybody can wear his jersey with pride ever again. I sincerely hope he never gets a second chance. Hes done bad things in the past, this is simply the last straw. Obviously the NFL should re-evaluate their standards.

NO DAVID F, the dogs he drowned, hung, starved, fought, electrocuted, shot, and murdered were the ones who 'got the shaft'.

Just because other people have robbed a bank and gotten away, should we release all bank robbers from prison? That's just ridiculous, that other people are doing it so Vick is getting the shaft.

Why would you want to defend a person who has demonstrated beyond comprehension just how evil and cruel human beings can be? (for the last 5 YEARS, I might add)

To the original question:
I think Michael Vick's attorneys urged him to take the plea deal for a reason. LIkely because they knew the evidence was overwhelming and they also knew that if all the dirty details of dogfighting and Michael Vick's participation became public, Vick would be even more vilified in the eyes of the American public, if that is possible. Of course, they were also trying to avoid the penalty for the additonal charges that were about to be filed against Vick.

Yes I do! Michael Vick is the most over-rated qb in the NFL. He has no respect for the fans as well as animals! His attitude is like all wrong. He might be a good qb but he is just not cool at all! He is so mean to everyone! He needs to be suspended for all the stuff he has done! He goes around flipping off fans and the thing with the water bottle!

No I don't think they should have done that. In my opinion I think he is getting the shaft in the whole deal. He was convicted by the public media and everyone else before he even gave a plea. Yes dog fighting is wrong but so many more people do it and maybe more than him and if they got caught would be nothing like what Vick's facing. Kobe
Bryant was accused of rape of another human being. Ray lews accused of murder and the only reason he got off is cause he ratted on whoever else was involved. Even if lewis didn't do it that's still far worse than what Vick has done. And lewis is playing today. Vick should do his time and then be allowed to play agian.

Yeah, the NFL shouldn't have to worry about harboring criminals. It's a sport and it's escapism and entertainment all in one. The NFL has it's own problems without having to deal with something as sensitive as animal torture.

Screw Michael Vick.

Micael Vick screwed up plenty and admitted to the crime. If nothing else he should take full responsibility for his actions and take the punishment. Instead, just like other celebrity blacks who commit crimes, they use their color for their excuses. Now some black commentators justify what Vic did because of his culture. Enter: Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

He should have done this in May 2007. He would have been playing or at least only getting a four game suspension. Even if he can come back, will anyone really want him. We really don't know the whole story yet. Plus even if he stays in shape, it won't be the same Pro-football shape.
