Can I go over an area more than twice with the rug doctor?

I just rented a rug doctor, wich worked wonders for a friend of mine, but isn't impressing me too much... my high trafic areas still look terrible and the directions say not to go over the same spot twice unless I let it dry first. I used the pretreatment spray and the cleaning solution... and it still isn't working with just two passes. Is there anything I can do??

What does this have to do with "cars and transportation"? Although it's too late for you now, in the future take your shoes off at the door and leave the dirt outside. My carpets are 10 years old, have never been shampooed or steam cleaned and still look like new.

The rug doctor leaves the carpet a little wet . Thats why they say not to go over it too often without letting it dry in between .

The high traffic areas may be worn rather than dirty. A professional cleaning service may get a better result than the rug doctor. There is a machine that will lift the carpet pile and thats a common problem in high traffic area.

With the rug doctor , if you have it for the day, wait 30 minutes or so and go over it again , move the machine slowly across the carpet. You can empty the cleaning solution or turn off the solution pump and use the machine just as a vacuum to remove the water .

I THINK YOU NEED A STEAM CLEANER....YOU CAN ALSO RENT THESE.
