As long as it's not a rave-type concert (meaning, open drug use).

Not really, because anything can happen at a concert. Not to scare you or anything, but concerts can be dangerous places. I really do not wanna scare you, but this story is true, and this stuff really does happen.
A girl and her friends (16 years old at the time) were at a concert for a band. The girl left her friends for a bathroom break, and outside the restrooms, she met a janitor that said that he could take her backstage to meet the band. The girl's body was later found hidden in the theater. The janitor confessed to luring her. The girl refused to have sex with him, so he raper her and strangled her to death.
As I am around your age, I too would be asking and begging to go to a concert by myself with a friend. But as a parent, I would definately say "No, and that's final."

As a mom (and a previously 14 year old who went to concerts with just friends when the world was a bit less crazy) I would say "it depends". It depends on what friend, what his/her parents have to say about it, what concert it is, what time it is and when it will end, and how you plan to get there and get back. To be honest, I'm not sure what answers would satisfy me. But I think you should answer those questions and then approach your parents.

yup.
However the rules of you going on your own to a different city would apply to anything.
Also if 14 most likly you are a little small so may get squished in the mosh pit or not tall enough to see so may be in the seats.
As a general rule no I have no problem other then the practicality of you handling yourself in the crowd and ideally going with somone older to keep an eye on you however you would loose them in the crowd.
So depends on the gig...
Something tame would not be too much of a problem with squishing,
Linkon park Ids say just get a bit bigger
Likewise if alcohol there would want to make sure no drinking... your body aint equipped to handle it certainly not at a gig.
However as a general rule concert crowds are very good at looking after each other especailly the young rookies

I let my 13 year old go as long as an adult goes too. BUT~ that is 100% up to YOUR parents. They know you and you have to live by their rules. Try discussing this with a mature attitude. Do your chores and homework right the first time and without any reminders. This will get their attention that you are ready for more responsibility

No concerts are really dangerous and it's easy to get kidnapped from there. You can get stabbed in a mosh pit. Wait until your 18 to go to one.

in case you have met his buddies and have confidence them, then i think of you should enable him pass. The Foo warring parties have not got a foul recognition and their song isn't seen offensive, so i could enable it. Be the driving force and organize to drop off his buddies too if mandatory. %. him up suitable after the stay overall performance. i think of that he would be quite risk-free even whether it incredibly is a bar district in case you're taking the precautions of lending him your cellular telephone (if he would not have one), chatting with him approximately what to do if he needs help (pass to between the various cops they have in those neighborhoods, or pass lower back interior the stay overall performance hall and spot risk-free practices) and to stand as much as any available peer stress (ie eating or drugs-- however those at the instant are not likely at this variety of stay overall performance). i could additionally determine he have been given his homework executed previously he went, or if it incredibly is the Friday that he a minimum of pass a sturdy start up on it that afternoon. this could tutor him your priorities. At age 14, it incredibly is significant supply our babies extra freedom presented all of us understand that they are going to be in a secure atmosphere. while you're carefully, yet enable him to pass, his have confidence on your will flourish and he won't prefer to disapoint you. to boot, your extra advantageous have confidence in him is important to his progression as a to blame person. (little ones who're reigned in too tightly get the message that their mothers and dads do no longer have confidence or admire them and this makes them plenty extra possibly to rebellion on the 1st possibility.) little ones who're given freedom with limitations excell. sturdy success! i'm hoping your son has an incredible time, and that i understand that in case you supply him this have confidence he will attempt to maintain it.
