they called you stupid, or simpleminded. and yes, you should be offended. unless it is said in a joking manner in an informal setting, calling someone a "twit" is considered an insult

The only thing funnier than being called a twit, is actually going online and polling the audience. I would definately be 'affended' if I were you.

Well, my general understanding of the word is that the person is just stupid and couldn't do anything correctly if they tried.
Yes, if someone referred to you as a twit, it's offensive. Unless the person was joking, I'd definately examine my relationship with that person. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

it means they are accusing you of grabbing their nipple and giving it a twist
either defend your virtue by slugging them down to the ground
or say "if you are gonna call me it then okay I will"
then grab their nipple and twist
be prepared to die, dude, not all that extend that invitation even know what they are asking for
if it is a girl that calls you a twit some of them think you are required to ask before proceeding cause you are NEVER allowed to mess up some chicks clothing by pinching her nipple and twisting it
there may even be a law against messing up chicks clothing
you are required to pass your hand inside their clothing in order to truly be a twit
if you are a non-gay guy and you are called a twit by a guy you are allowed to ignore it completely
