I mean seperate people like potential partners or your employer or parents.
If so, what people?
I don't mean do you try to impress people generally because I doubt many people do that.
Be honest now.

I used to, but after attending a wedding a few weeks ago, I realized I dont have to do that anymore. There were at least 100 people there and I didnt know half of them. Ordinarily I would try to impress them but this time I just had a great time and by the end of the 3 days, I knew a lot of new people. I wish I hadnt wasted so much time in the past.

Yes, my parents, especially when I found out they wanted a son before I was born. It's important for me to know they're proud of me.
I also try to impress my teachers by doing homework, participating in class, etc. When it comes time to do my college application, I'll need them as references. Not only that, I want to show them that I'm a good and eager student.
I don't try to impress anyone else because I come off as stuck-up. At least my parents know the type of person I am and my teachers would be glad to know they're helping students (which is their job, anyway).

I think everyone tries to impress people to some point that's why it's called make an impression. Even though some say they aren't trying to impress anyone, doesn't mean that they aren't. It all depends on the attitude they project.

Sure, I try to impress employer and employees every day that I go to work. And other people as well. I don't let just any one know the real me.

years ago when I had a boss he wrote me a Christmas card that said that I "went way above and beyond the call of duty and I anticipated his work needs". And I thought that was nice of him to say that. It's what I did to try to impress and it worked.

Only myself, whether people are impressed or not, they sometimes will not ADMIT IT.Rather then going out of your allowing individuals trying to put you through extremities, just please YOURSELF .Unless you have very low self-esteem.
