Genetics proves there is inteligent design and the fact that things are always in a constant state of change proves evolution so whats wrong if you believe both are right?

They do people just like to argue about the details.

Because one is a real science (meaning it can be tested and validated or tested and proven false) while the other is little more than a belief system that tries to incorporate science to support it. It can't be tested and it can't be falsified because it is simply a belief that is why there will be no coexistance. Also as we have seem throughout history on up to modern times... any system that is built on belief only and no fact, typically does not allow for competing points of view. Plus, belief systems don't allow for questioning, you simply accept what is because some higher power made it. you don't ask why things are they way they are or how they came to be when it can simply be explained away as God or some other higher power.

Now, sorry I had to pontificate there for a second. The other reason they can't exist is because evolution is based on random mutations providing for change among species. Intelligent design simply says everything has been planned out but this can't be observed of course. And now how exactly does Genetics prove there is an intelligent design? Our genetic code is remarkably simple in it's design... once you understand it. It took mutation, change, random chance and chaos to get where the Earth is today... I don't see how any intelligent being could have planned everything to just sort of happen to make this end result. You are welcome to continue your argument though... I am interested in knowing the answer to that genetics question.

There is absolutely not reason why creationism and evolution cannot coexist. These people have other reasons for disagreeing. Creationists believe in a creator who is smart enough to design life, but not smart enough to engineer adaptive mechanisms into his designs. This makes no sense. Part of the problem is that the whole 'image of God' notion precludes change. This comes from their misunderstanding of the concept. The 'image of God' cannot be physical; because why would an omnicient, omnipotent being need two eyes, and hands and fingers and a penis and a mouth and an asshole. Obviously God does not 'look' like us so he had other criteria for designing us--functionality.

- Evolution requires an earth that has existed for billions of years with life for millions of years.
Creationism claims that the earth is only 6,000 years old, a huge difference.

- Evolution explains why thing like animal breeding works and how some animals change to fit their environment.
Creationism just hands it all over to God.

I agree that the formation of DNA is so complex it seems to be hardly random, that there was some intelligence at work in the design. It also seems to me that a God who creates in a subtle manner rather than wiz, bang pop, you're done, is a smarter God.

The problem with the Bible is that if any part of it is put into doubt then the entire text can be put into doubt, despite the fact that it was written by several people, edited, voted on for inclusion and reworked by every preacher who has ever laid eyes on it. The way I was taught the Bible is the word of man inspired by God, it is not the exact word of God. Try explaining something as complex as the big bang and evolution to people in a stone age through bronze age technology. Have you ever tired to understand how a TV works, it is not simple and when you include the conversion of the signal for transmission it becomes more difficult. Someone for the time of the bible would lack the understanding to understand the words they would need to understand to ask an intelligence question. So it would just be magic to them; just like creationism is.

Science and religion can coexist, but you can’t deny what we have with verifiable information to prove, all based on the work in a single book. The Bible is not perfect, it is a creation of man and man is not perfect, but if the religious folk read that then I have committed heresy to some of them.

They can co-exist, just not in the public school classroom. Evolution is backed up by honest, legitimate research and literally tons of evidence. Creationism is a religious idea based on one particular interpretation of one book by one particular sect of one religion.

Oddly enough, despite its religious roots, creationism is an extremely dishonest political movement. The people promoting it not only lie about science, they also lie about the Bible.

btw, genetics doesn't "prove there is intelligent design." In fact, genetic science provides some of the strongest confirmation of evolutionary theory.

Because Evolution is a scientific theory and creationism is not. Evolution belongs in the science community and classroom and creationism belongs in theology. If I go to a math class, I expect to be taught mathematical theories and ideas. If my teacher began to teach me philosophy, that would be a conflict of interest. That's why creationism and evolution can't coexist, because they're different subjects that belong in different areas of life.

Easy. Evolution is an observed fact. Creationism is based on lies.

Creationists keep repeating the same old tired assertions that have been refuted so many times that they cannot be called anything but lies. In addition, they have been caught lying, not once, but many times.

Creationists are no better than the "fake Moon landing" crowd and the "Bermuda triangle" crowd. All based on lies.

putting aside your comment about genetics:

creationism is a movement created to directly oppose evolution- they have very specific beliefs they want to push. Their entire reason for being is to refute. Evolution says nothing about faith.

People of faith really have no problem with science. There is a grandeur in this life of ours. science helps us see it for what it is.

Learn a bit about what evolution is, and find that part of your faith that avoids the negative - Don't get pulled in by cult beliefs. Evolution is a fact of life.

a) Genetics doesn't prove that there is Intelligent Design.
b) The problem with Intelligent Design is that no one can point to a time(s) when this Design took place, and what occurred at that time(s).

Show the where genetics proves there is intelligent design. You have to have just pulled that out of your hat somewhere because it does no such thing.

They DO co-exist! Creation accounts for the appearance of the universe where nothing existed before. Evolution, which began billions of years later, accounts for the diversity of living things on one little planet in one solar system in one galaxie among millions, in the created universe!
