I'm trying to help someone out, but I'm not sure if these fish would get along. I know one would need to use caution with these fish, but give me some advice.
The fish:
Blue gourami (up to 6 inches)
Dwarf gourami (up to 2-3 inches)
pictus catfish (up to 10 inches)
6 tiger barbs (up to 3 inches each)

The measurements of each species are how large they will get, not their current size.

They will be fine with each other as long as the tiger barbs are in a minimum of 6, that way you can cut back on aggression
A 55 gallon tank is absolutely recommended and lots of live plants to hide out in
Hope that helps
Good luck

I wouldn't mix those fish in any size of tank. Do not mix tiger barbs with dwarf gouramis. Tiger barbs are too nippy and too active for dwarf gouramis. Do not mix dwarf gouramis with blue gouramis. They are both territorial and the blue gourami will be too aggressive towards the dwarf gourami. If you want dwarf gouramis then avoid the other choices. If you want tiger barbs then avoid the gouramis.

The tiger barbs are very aggressive, the catfish, I don't think will bother. Although I never hear of the pictus. And not sure on the gourami. I'm not sure, but I don't think they are aggressive.

I have tigerbarbs, 5 dwarf gouramis, and a pictus cat all in the same tank. Never any problems with fighting or fin nipping. Hope this helps.

The rule of thumb (that most people follow) is 1" of fish per gallon of water that the tank is. You want to keep in mind how big the fish will be at adult size, not how big they are when you buy them. Just by what you've mentioned, you'll need at least a 40 gallon tank. However, don't pack all these fish in at once. That'll just cause your ammonia levels to rise to quickly and that'll kill all the fish. As for how they'll get along....this group should get a long, although tiger barbs may tend to school together and pick on the other fish. If you have a larger tank, they should be fine.

most of those fish are full grown. i think the blue gourami might get to about 8 inches. a 55 gallon long should work perfectly, but dont add any more fish

i can help with the dwarf gouramis, just dont put two males together, unless the tank is huge, and if you were to get a female dwarf gourami, id get two so the male doenst harass the one female too much

We have 4 Gouramis and an Oscar. The Gouramis don't seem to get along with anything but their own kind! But, maybe you should ask Petsmart, if you have that, or another pet store.

Tiger barbs are nasty. I got 5 of them because they are supposed to school, but one of them killed all of the other ones... AND several plecos. AND he's still alive, little basssstard.
Anyway, a gallon per inch of fish.

I wouldn't put Barbs with any type of fish with long flowing fins. But to answer your question, I'd say no less than 55 gallons with proper filtration.
