I'll do you one better. Eighty percent of vocal homophobes are closeted homosexuals or at least bi (read: they get turned on by gay porn):
"The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35 ) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies."

One only needs to read the news to find that again and again closeted homophobes are actually suppressed and self-hating gays or bisexuals, themselves. This is not debatable.
People hate gays because our socialization process teaches us to conform, and therefore anyone who goes against conformity, becomes a threat to our perceived social success.
When individual are growing up they construct their own self concept, and they build a form of femininity or masculinity unique to themselves.
If the foundation of their self-concept as a male is weak, then these individuals have to spend a lot of time for the rest of their lives defending this weakly-constructed masculinity/femininity.
Gays challenge the masculine construction of individuals who have very simplistic and rigid ideas about what makes a male masculine, and the same is true for females / feminine.
This is why feminists also challenge the weak constructions of individuals who are chauvinistic, etc.
And that's why gays and feminists get lumped together, since our existence challenges the self-concepts of a lot of emotionally immature people around the world.
This is not to say that gays are more emotionally mature in general, but regarding their sexual identities, they have advanced beyond many straights. Why is this true?
It's simple, because most straights never have anyone or anything that challenges their sexual identity.

i have 2 agree. my mom thinks its a choice but i found out she's bi bcuz she made slip that the only reason she wouldn't date a girl is bcuz it's 2 much drama, NOT bcuz she's not attracted 2 women. the sad part is that she doesn't even seem 2 notice she's bi. i think what u say is only half write cuz the other half is just ppl who think what we do is disgusting so they want 2 pretend that we chose this rather than believe that god made us they way we r. that would mean that god is responsible 4 what they think is "sickening" and they don't think that god is capable of such things. well NEWS FLASH!!!
god made us the way we r. ppl might think we r disgusting and perverted but 2 each their own. at least we're better that the child molesters (who r almost always straight) and the serial killers like charles manson, the son of sam, and the zodiac killer (all of which were also straight). all in all, it seems like LGBT ppl r the normal ppl

I don't think so. i'm most certainly not a homophobe i accept all people and i don't think it can be "cured" but i have to admit i don't understand the born with it thing. but i don't have any gay friends or know any gay people to explain it to me either. but since i dont necessarily believe you're born with it i guess that qualifies me to answer this question. i've never been attracted to women and have never thought of them in any type of sexual manner. so no i don't have bi tendencies.

I don't think they're neccisarily bi,but if you look at it from one angle, there's a lot of gays in politics who are against other gays. I mean who can't remember that one guy who was against gay marriage and so forth, but ended up being a child molester with boys (I can't remember his name for the likes of me) for one example. What drives me crazy though is when people toss around the word homophobic about themselves and they say they hate gays. If you look up the definiton of "homophobia" it means to be afraid of being gay. So, looking back at your question, I fully understand where you're coming from. It kind of reminds me of some gays who can't come out because of family problems and such and are forced to live a straight life.

i'm no longer against what you're describing. i understand that some cultures have not any themes with 2 adult males protecting hands, or 2 women people. yet some people (in spite of religion) are in basic terms blind to different cultures. that's no longer their fault. yet enable's settle for it: part of yank lifestyle is assuming that any tutor of intimate friendship between contributors of the comparable intercourse must be sexual in nature. look in any respect the questions and comments at here with reference to the courting between Jesus and the apostles, or David and Jonathan for data.

i might get thumbs down for this but saying gay is a choice does not mean your Gay or Bisexual. Im Against Gays all the way, but i do respect them if your gay and i see walking down the street i will say Hi and thats it, no convo, nothing else just keep walking. I almost throw up when i see
or hear about what gay people do. but other then that let the gays do what they want its not hurting my life , they have gay marriages (which i do not agree with) but ay that wont slow me a bit. and last thing, people who talk bad about gays all the time, i think their gay too.
and the person above my answer has a good point also

This is a free country. You are free to live as a homosexual. Other people are free to be "against homosexuality." Is this a difficult concept??

Actually I tend to think of things in a Darwin type manner.
If something is not a survival characteristic, it dies out. With AIDS being associated far more with the gay life style and the IV drug user life styles, I expect those two types of behavior to die out. No moral judgment involved, characteristics and behaviors that do not promote survival of the individual or the species die, those that do, get passed on.

it's very possible. You see for the most part being homosexual is not a choice however acting out on it is.
I am flexible with both genders and what gender and who I desire more changes over time.
Being who you are is not wrong.
