There's a medication for memory improvement (called hydrogene or something like that) and it doesn't work. My elderly aunt and uncle religiously took this medication every day, thinking that it would help them with their failing memory spans. It was prescribed by their family doctor and cost $90 per bottle, and my aunt and uncle had no prescription coverage so they paid for it out-of-pocket. After my aunt and uncle passed away, their doctor let it slip out in conversation that he knew all along that this expensive medication was bogus. I was mad to hear that. How dare he?? My aunt and uncle existed on a very limited income and did without other necessities in order to buy those darn pills.

that restless leg medicine. that is BS if you ask me. its just another way for pharmaceutical companies to make money. the disorder was just 'come up with' a few years ago. sure our legs feel twitchy and restless sometimes, but its nothing a few bananas and excercise can't fix.
even the people who are on them and say they work are just victims of the placebo effect. i bet if the pharmacy gave everyone who 'suffered' from RLS sugar pills they would all get the same result.

I bought Sudafed because I was really congested, so I buy the one that says 24 hour relief so I take it at 6 in the morning and it didn't work until 6 am the next morning. After that I call it 'Sudafed-24 (hours later) relief'

Uhm, yeah. Pretty much any diet pill out there. I mean c'mon people. Without regular exercise it's not gonna work.

I think there are a lot of herbal remedies that we ignore when we rely on drug companies. Drug companies want your money and spend millions on advertising. I think getting you to buy the drug is first, and if it works, that is second.
I also think anti-depressants don't help everyone.
