ok so i got the RROD and my XBOX 360 does not have any sound so plz tell me step by step how to get it repaired or get a new one and can i keep my hard drive?

You call 1-800-MY-XBOX, and MS will send you a box along with instructions on what to do. You take out the hard drive and the face plate, and then send your 360 to MS for repairs.

First call 1-800-4MY-XBOX (make sure to include the number "4" when you dial). Microsoft (MS) will ship a white box to your house with a shipping label. Inside the box it has some instructions - take off hard drive, how to place xbox,where to place label, etc. After putting your X360 on the box, take it to UPS or whichever post service they tell you to (shipping is free). The whole process takes about a week and a half and for the inconvinience MS will include a 1 Month complimentary Xbox Live Subscription.
