what information would you need about the examinee to determine whether his/her response reflected or supported the projective hypothesis?

Visual clues - especially in the eye area such as a furrowed brow (the mouth area is not as reliable).

Verbal clues - what the examinee tells you (even if they are lying, they "meta-communicate" with their response).

Hopefully a valid exam like the MMPI-2 which can determine how truthful they are.
