Just the act of taking it somewhere else wouldn't void the warranty, but they could void it by doing work that wasn't to factory standards.

It's all about record keeping, If there any questions from the dealer/warranty Department you will need "Full Detailed Records" and the shop you take it to shop should "Certified".
But in most cases it mainly a case of "Good Record Keeping" on your part and that of the shop.

With most warrenties, yes. I would assume that does apply to all, though.
