he just looks a couple of weeks along, so it could be anytime from a week to 5 weeks and be within totally normal time frame. I would place her in the breeder net only after the back of her belly begins to look less round and more squared off, maybe 2 weeks or so from now.

Be careful to always move the gravid females at least two weeks before they are due. Waiting until they look like they are ready to burst will result in undue stress to the fish and possibly loss of the fry as well. The photos show a female that's a couple of weeks from birthing,so it would be a good time to move her, just be gentle. Instead of netting the fish, try to gently guide her into a container and move her in that.
The sure sign that the birth is near will be the development of the fry's eyes, which will be visible in the "gravid spot",the clear area just above the vent.
Make sure that the conditions in the brooder tank are very near those in the main tank.
Those net or plastic breeder traps are not as desirable as a separate tank, and fish rarely do well in them, they seem like a good idea, but they really don't work as well as a separate tank with lots of "bunch plants" to provide hiding places for the fry.
Good luck, and keep us posted on the progress.

growing up i raised hundreds upon hundreds of fancy guppies. at the time i had a general idea of when to expect the momma to give birth. but honestly it was so long ago i dont remember. i do know that after so long i stopped putting my females in a breeder tank until they looked like they were about to pop or i would find 1 little baby swimming around and i would know it was time. u usually can tell when she is about to have them, she is a little twitchy goes to a secluded spot of the tank and u can see pre birth stuff coming out also. but mothers willl eat the babies too so its best to be patient and wait and watch and try to kepe her away from her babies then remove her from their tank.

they have a gestation period of about 28 days. yours maybe a few more weeks so in about a week you should put her in there. try to provide a lot of bushy plants. whenever you see that black spot then you know your guppy is pregnate or gravid. by the way, thatnks for providing pics
