Celebrities are not special under the law. Under Art. 14 all are equal before the law, and how so ever high and mighty a person may be the law is always above him. No body gets special treatment because of their celebrity status. All cases are judged on merits.

If there is any genuine hardship the court will look into it sympathetically. It is just that celebrities can afford to pay the fees of lawyers who may be beyond the reach of common man and that is why sometimes they get what appears to be special treatment which is nothing but the legal expertise of his lawyer.

We need to understand that rule of law, equality before law and equal protection of law are key features of the constitution which prohibit the courts from discriminating between people based on their status.

Yes

Celebrities should be role models and as such they need to be that. If celebrities violate the law they should be punished just like anyone else. When celebrities violate the law they get more media coverage in some cases and this can be an example of what not to do. It should be a lesson to others that crime does not pay and whether you are a celebrity does not make a difference. Therefore is someone thinks they are above the law it shows them they are not.

You should have no doubt on this account . Celebrty or no celeberty, no one is above the law of the land. Any one breaking the law or disobeying the established social commands set by traditions and customs must be convicted if found guilty after a fair trial.

Everybody is equal before the law. Convictions are based on evidence, and every accused in a case not only has a chance of defending himself during trial, but also a right to appeal against the judgement in higher court, so why you worry.

If they claim to be celebrities then it is their duty to see that their acts and omissions do not make them criminal. If one commits offence he should be punished as every one is equal before law and with no exception for celibrities.
