It is illegal to hire you into a company because of child labor laws. I think only 16 year olds can get a work permit.

So...go to people, and say "I want to earn money. What are some things I can do for you to earn a little bit?"

Most of the time people are happy to help and you wind up with a ton of jobs! Yard work, babysitting are the biggest, but there's also cleaning and laundry and dog-walking, and pet-sitting, or typing up papers for other kids at school. You just gotta get out where you are and see what people are willing to do!

Sometimes people make up stuff to do just to give you a job to earn cash. Ask and see.

Look into taking a babysitting course & babysit. It's a reasonably good earner. You can also look at newspaper delivery, which takes up little time out of your schedule.

Look for jobs with family members, who may be more willing to overlook your age. Besides that, you can badger them for recomendation letters for when you're older, which is always nice :D. If you've passed all your swim lessons, look to your public pool for swim teacher or lifeguarding jobs, which are often given to teenagers.

Likewise, teaching to young children jobs often recruit adolescents; if you have a community art center, try looking for positions there. It helps if you've taken lessons or are good at something- a.k.a. gymnastics to gymnastics teacher.

There are usually a lot of positions open for summer camp or day camp counselors during the summer, but summer is winding down now.

At 16, really, is when the most jobs and (more glamorous jobs) will open up- cashiers, store attendents, etc..

Don't forget to volunteer as well! There are ALWAYS positions available there, you'll need them for college transcripts, and you'll feel great : ].

Good luck!

Well, when I was about 15, I use to babysit. I made business cards and everything. I put it in there mail box and asked for $6.00 an hour. I worked really hard and made a lot of money. Then when I turned 16 I got a real job.

babysitting makes a lot, charging $6/hr you can make like $36 if it's for the whole night.

some businesses will hire a 14 yr old part time, it is legal, but most want 16 and up..

and you could always ask for an allowance

My oldest daughter when she was in middle school was very good in math , so she took advantage of it by tutoring younger kids in math and got paid very good and she and I met a lot of neighbors we didn't know anything about. she got money and I got new friends . so if he or she is good on any subject in school then let him or her tutor some kids. also they can answer the phone for someone taking messages the person who needs this can forward their calls to your home & the caller wont know they aren't calling you! This is great money making ask your phone company about call forwarding it's an extra charge for you but when your teen takes messages he or she will get paid lots of money I did it and I wasn't a teen I was just a stay home mom when I started answering peoples phone calls from my house it was great!!!

I am making money just for having my computer connected to the web! I've tried this and made sure there are no viruses or anything even close. You don't have to give them any personal information. They pay you every month through paypal and I have already made quite a bit of money. Major corporations are paying you to borrow some of your computing power. It saves them money and you get money in return. Try it out. If you don't like it you don't have to keep it! Click the link below.

There are a lot of people that do not have the time to get their yards ready for winter. You could offer to do season end work for them. I know I could use someone to do that for me.

Babysitting! Just be careful when you do. Make sure you and your parents know the people you are babysitting for and are comfortable with them.
