Black families never adopt white children why is that so?

at least I have never seen this...give me some insight.

Great question. Haven't thought about that until now..I know many white people that have adopted black children. Color should not be the issue...it's the love of wanting to be a parent to a child without any.

Maybe they think they can't. That they would run into trouble. I know that a lot of "white" people get the run around trying to adopt "black" children. The agencies feel that they should go to "black" families if at all possible.
The whole thing is stupid. Children belong with those who will love and care for them. And we are all shades of brown, varying from pinkish beige to chocolate. I have never seen a person whose skin was actually black, or a "white" person either. (Except that lady from the Lord of the Rings and she scares me)

because white children are most common in adoptions. if the black families adopted only white children, there would be a ton of black chilren in foster care. plus, some families like to adopt children that would fit into their family tree, with the same cultural background, so they have something in common with their new child.

Edit: the children who are adopted by a family of a different race feel left out, or alone, because they may feel like there is no one in the family to experience the racism or dirty looks that people give them for being with a different colored family. it does happen.

My guess is a black family would want a child that would look like them.A child that they can relate to. A child with the same ethnic background as the parents. There are a lot of Black children out there looking for some one to love them. There some women out there who can't have kids and some just want another child to love. So they bring this child or children into the home to make there family complete.

pent up anger left by the days of slavery? maybe its just that whites mostly adopt babies of color cause they feel like they owe the race something.
It is more likely that a white person has the means to adopt a baby at all no matter what color, as it is more likely that most black mothers along with other minority mothers can not afford having that baby nor have the means to care for it.

but it kinda works out - people that cant take care of a baby give it up for adoption- and they are smart for doing so. and people who are in a good place to adopt do so. i think its great that some people can not have children, i also think its terrible that some women can allow themselves to become pregnant while knowing they are drug atticts and can not care for the kid!

Well white poeple love to adopt kids that arent white, first its exotic, for them its like buying an new end table or peice of furniture. "Look Howard , its sooo exotic looking , Unlike the bland same coloured peices we used to have" That sorta stuff. Maybe black people don't in lesser communities because of teh stigma of raising children that arent black will be harder for the child because maybe others around them arent as positive and open as they are and they dont want to put a kid through that sort of close mindedness. I have though seen it before not just white i know a black family nearby that have adopted 2 whit 1 black and 2 asian kids. The kid's are very happy , ive seen and played basketball with them and my son's go over to play with them. They set a very neutral but very positive it's ok to be who you are enviorment.

Anyway I am sure it happens however in our society minorities previously had such a disadvantage that white folks did most of the adopting as things be come more equal things will change.

It's not rare my aunt adopted like 3 caucasian children and so did my other aunt but she adopted 2, and they both love them very much, they feed them well, the go buy them clothes every month, and they get whatever they want.

My Aunt and Uncle, both white went to China to adopt a child.
They came home with a little girl, and all of the time security guards chase em down or people stop them thinking they kidnapped her.
Some people just can not deal with that type of an issue.

Simply because people want to adopt a child that looks like them. I mean it would be kinda awkward - no matter how unracist you are, when you're all black and there's an odd white kid in the family its hard to form a good relationship.

Its the same with white families. Unless they're celebrities or extremely friendly or a politician, they tend not to adopt black kids.

Julius C: That is pure racism. White, black, they're all people. In fact I've seen more white people with badly treated dogs than black people. Does that mean all white people can't take care of their dogs? No. Same goes for black people.
