you have to get the neighbors involved... either take them out back and shoot them or have them set off bombs at the same time.... (im not sure if you're a renter but if so it would be landlords responsibility and wouldn't matter what neighbors said.)
If all else fails call exterminator..... and look for a shovel.

The people that have said Boric acid are correct. We lived in city apartments that were really bad and nothing worked, not even exterminators. Someone would move in next door and the roaches were back. Then I found what looked like one of those squeeze mustard or catchup bottles in with the bug sprays. It was the cheapest thing there so I tried it. Just gently squeezing to puff a little around the baseboards. Within two weeks we'd seen our last roach. When we moved to a home we didn't take any with us, and now, more than 20 years later we're still roach free. They use boric acid in eye wash. It's pretty harmless unless you're a bug.

Being messy or clean has nothing to do with roaches, they are not prejudice. It's how much can you spend to get rid of them, cause it is expensive. Call an exterminator, but you can also buy Combat roach motels, they work good if you get enough of them. There is roach powder and gel too. Roaches eat anything, even drywall and each other. The body can live several weeks without the head. They are also immune to lot of sprays and bombs. Get plastic sealed containers for all your dry food, including your box cereals. Don't leave anything out. Even your bread needs to be in a air tight container. They eat dog food and cat food too. Probably the best is to hire a company to come in monthly or weekly at first.
and have them keep coming back. Just make it another one of your monthly bills, paying the exterminator.

your all right but before you put boric acid around your home try to buy a case of caulking the cheap one will do the trick and try caulking along the base board especially the bathroom around the water supply and drain and don't forget the kitchen cabinets make sure there's no hiding place behind them look inside base cabinet lower back and seal that area but before you seal the last hole dust it with boric acid by doing this you will not need an exterminator ever at least not for roaches any question let me know

20 Mule Team Borax from Wal-Mart
You'll never have roaches again. The crystals scratch their coating and they dehydrate. Sprinkle it any areas where you see them and cracks and crevices. And another plus for this product, it has a zillion other uses: Floor and Wall Cleaning, Laundry Detergent, Urine Odors, Drying your Flowers, Cleaning Clogged Drains, Cleaning Windows and Mirrors, Clean Your Toilet, the list goes on and on. Wouldn't live without this stuff being in my home. Throw the highly toxic stuff away and give this product a try.

Buy some borac acid.... it is a white powder substance... you will put it out alll through the edges of your apt....,( I actually put it in one of those plastic squeeze bottle that you use when mixing hair dye.. with the thin nozzel)..it will allow you to put straight lines along the edge of the walls... ......, be generous... but don't make your house look like a powder bomb went off... (like mine.... I really wanted them gone)..LOL !!
It works wonders....though it is not harmful to us ( we can actually use it to soak our feet) it is lethal for the roaches. If you add a pinch of sugar in the powder.. it will attract the roaches to your droppings and kill them.
If you have pets... be careful..... reapply each time you dust.
Good Luck !!!

the roach motels only attracts the roaches. i used to live in NYC our apartment was between the elelvator shaft and garbage shute with a major cockroach problem so bad that my mother in law woke up with a cockroach in her mouth.
poor lady she is really nice.
anyway, I used a vacuum cleaner and suck the critters up and desposed of the bag out asap
poor guys , they know they are doomed, watch them try to escape.

Don't try to get rid of them by yourself the Raid spray doesn't do much work. Hire an exterminator

Sprinkle Boric Acid around the baseboards, you'll find thus stuff at the drugstore. It won't hurt your kids or pets but when insects ingest it...they die.
