Had he given some of the take to the IRS this entire thing would have still been unknown. His sentence was wrong as was his behaviour. Our system has flaws and for him to get 5 years while OJ walks free is a travesty.

Correction: Dog the Bounty Hunter didn't murder anyone. He just happened to be there when someone was killed. He actually only did 3 out of the 5 years. He got out on good behavior. I couldn't care less about Michael Vick. What he did was dumb, and 5 years is a little harsh.

Dog served 5 years. OJ was acquitted for killing 2 people, Lenard Little served 90 days in a work house for killing a woman. Jayson Williams still walks free to this day for killing a man, and is only on trial for tampering with evidence, Vick plead guilty to multiple felony's, and will prolly end up serving 10-18 months. so I,m gonna have to agree with you and question the system.

even though the indictment says a max of 5 years for Vick, he's only going to serve about 10 1/2 months behind bars. The official sentence will most likely be 12-18 months but with good behavior will lower it to 10 1/2 months or so.

the difference is Dog Chapman didn't pull the trigger, he was outside in the car waiting, he was actually charged with felony murder (it's where if someone dies intentionally or not while in the commission of a felony). I'm sure Chapman cut a deal plead guilty and got time off for good behavior. Vick on the other hand is facing federal charges, he's also cut a deal although his crime was actually hands on, I'll be very surprised if he actually serves a year total.

I'm not a fan of Dog Chapman, but he did change his life profoundly. He was at the scene of the murder - his buddy did the killing, thus his sentence was reduced. He may be over dramatic and lied about being married to Beth (they, in fact, only married last year), but he's a hardworking man and family man who also does lots of charity work.

Vick wasn't even in his "dog fighting sport" for the money. He was in it for the love of the blood and for a twisted image as a thug who got street cred.

Anyone who delights in killing dogs in the most inhumane, sadistic manners, because they lost or don't have a fighting temperment, is mentally ill. He went in to court only apologizing to his mother (and not for his dog abuse and killings). He claimed he was innocent.

And for that moron basketball playa who said that it was the same as deer hunting....nope, it's not. Most deer hunters are responsible and when they shoot, they know how to do a kill shot - so little to no suffering for the animal.

And the NAACP who are trying to whitewash what Vick has done, I think they ought to be ashamed of themselves, playing the race card.

Your point? "Dog" was present at the scene of a murder, he didn't pull the trigger.....Vick, admitted he bought the dogs and the land but didn't bet on the fights (right). No there is no justice. Vick should get way more than 5 years and will probably only get 18 months.

Oh wait, I get it, it's because he's black isn't it. Sorry "Dog" was white biker trash, in Texas, in the 70's, he's lucky he only got 5 years. Michael Vick is a thug, plain and simple. He deserves everything he gets. But hey, look at the bright side maybe he'll jump bail and "Dog" can track him down.

No something very warped is going on with people these days. Dogs abuse is horrible but NEVER should it be compared to human life. This is absolutely crazy.
Fine the man with a hefty fine, but years in prison is nuts.
I wonder if there would be such an outcry if he had killed 60 rattlesnakes on his property.
Or is a rattlesnake's life less than a dog's?

Our system is working - there will always be outrageous examples to site - OJ, R Blake, Phil Spector, the Manendos brothers and so on. But overall, yeah, our system works - especially if you've got plenty of dough.
Hard to compare a multi-million dollar defense team to a court appointed lawyer.

Vick won't serve five years. His maximum sentence is a year and a half. He'll probably serve 90 days.

Dog is sweet.
