Actually that was on the radio just the other day. The guys wife washed it in the washer and he took the phone to show them. It was very clean and shiny, but didn't work. The phone place gave him a new battery and told him to go home and bake it in the oven at 100 degrees for 5 to 6 hours.
He took the battery out before doing and turned the oven on and let it get to the heat, shut it off and let it set for 2 hours. The spots on the screen were gone and it Worked!
This was a radio show host named Kevin on WFMS 95.5 FM in Indiana. You can go the web page and ask him. He will tell you more. You can email him. He is on the morning show. He couldn't believe it. It really worked. It was hot, of course, to the touch though.
My roommate got her radio wet once and she blew dry it and it worked. (Long story). You could try that too.
Good luck.

Did the same exact thing earlier this summer.
Was pushed into a pool with my phone in my pocket. I went down to the verizon store, because I had a verizon phone. The backlight is a very iffy thing the guy said, but sometimes laying your phone outside in the UV lights from the sun for 24-48 hours helps completely dry it out. It worked for me!!! :) so good luck!

Your phone is broken. Try putting it out in the sun, but that usually doesn't work. There probably is some other way to fix it, but that probably would be more expensive then just getting a new phone. So I would recommend just buying a new phone and keeping it away from the pool.

I take it you dont have insurance? If you do have insurance, use it. But if you dont I think you should either use the phone with a messed up screen or just save up and get a new one.
When you buy a new phone (if you do) make sure to look into insurance. It saved my butt, and it would have saved yours, too.
-I had a motorola V262, but once it died in the tub they gave me an upgrade because the V262 was an older model.-

Okay, listen up...cuz this is gonna sound a lil nutty..but it works. Take the battery out...put it in the oven on the WARM setting...it dries it out. You'll be fine. Oh, and just incase you ever drop it in a cup of Sprite...soak it in rubbing alcohol first...then put in oven. The alcohol helps get rid of the sugar. Hell, it might help to go ahead and do the alcohol thing anyways...cuz alcohol can cause water to evaporate. If you're nervous about putting it in the oven...since it's so freakin' hot lately....put it on your dash in your car where it can get direct sun...it'll dry right up. Oh, and tell your tard friend..your phone doesn't have ink in it anymore than your computer moniter does. Oh, one last thing....DO NOT TURN IT ON UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY...give it a couple of days...otherwise you'll ruin it.

You need to let the phone dry out for a few days--up to 4. Do NOT touch it in those 4 days. You can put it back together and see what happens, and it may not work but you just never know.

I had the same problem...except mine fell in the toilet, haha
take the battery and sim card out and let all of it sit in a cool dry place after a few days it should work again. if it doesn't go to where you got and see if you can get a replacement
