Tell him to file a federal habeous corpus and on it to put that he is not receiving adequate medical treatment. Legally they have to provide some sort of medication to him, if they are not he needs to get the courts involved and a h.c. can do that.

Not buying it.

If the people that "made" him sell his meds were cops, that's "entrapment" and a second year law student could have gotten him off.

If not, he's guilty, but could have gotten a much lighter sentence by rolling on the people that allegedly "made" him do it.

Anyway, I do agree, it's time to end this silly "War on Drugs". We've been at it 40 years, had the occassionaly "surge" in various presidents, and the very people that get incarcerated for drugs are still doing drugs in prison.

Time to give it up and close the DEA and FDA. It's not working.

Part of this problem is that no one takes responsibility for their actions. How did some guys make him sell his meds? No one can MAKE you sell your meds. He chose to sell his meds, and he got caught. Now, if he was selling his meds before he went to jail, then he was not taking them then. Now that he is in jail, he wants to take them.

He has access to medical help in prison. Every prisoner in the USA has access to medical help. If he feels he is not being properly cared for, he needs to have legal representation so that he is cared for. But I doubt this is really happening.

Prison is for prisoners. It is not often that an innocent person is sent to prison. That is why, when it happens, it is on the news. I'm not sure why you think this has happened "to way too many people."

HIV is not the last stage of AIDS, HIV is a retrovirus that can lead to AIDS. Also there is no drug called oxy cottom, I think you are referring to OxyContin which is a level 2 narcotic used to treat pain. It is only prescribed by a doctor, and unless your friends doctor is willing to state that he needs this to survive, he wont get it. Before any prison system gets drugs for inmates, they talk to the doctor of that inmate to see if thats a necessary drug. Since your friend is a known seller of his prescribed drugs, the doctor might have said its not a necessity for him to have that particular drug. Your friends HIV is not affected either way if he doesnt have OxyContin, as it is a really powerful pain reliever and thats it. I think the prison system talked to his doctor already and the doc told them that he didnt need it.
