to rss27, he won't be back, he already admitted what he did, and he may even do jail time which he deserves, so the only place he will be playing football will be in jail, if they have a team!!

I think Michael Vick should be turned loose in a yard full of pit bulls. Then we could find out if he's really as fast, and elusive as they say he is.

If he does play football again, which I don't think he will, it won't be for quite a few years. If he does jail time, I highly doubt he will ever play again. In my opinion he should get what he deserves, Jail time and never allowed to play football again. The NFL with all it's black marks they have been getting lately needs to make an example out of Vick. What happened to the positive role models we had back in the 60's and 70's. Just like Baseball, Basketball and now Football, is becoming a joke for future kids that need to look up to certain individuals as role models in their field of sport that they want to play in. It has been becoming a sad, sad case in the last 2 decades for all 3 major American sports.

He should be punished because he did something horribly wrong. Cruelty to animals is wrong whether a football player does it or allows it to happen or whether a cosmetic or chemical company does it or allows it to happen.
This case got blown out of proportion because Vick is another "athlete/actor/ artist/heiress behaving badly".
What gets me is the protests and people saying he should be executed. Not as many MEN and women say that when an athlete/ actor/artist//heiress is hurting women children or minorities with their words or deeds. Nobody is saying that about Britney, Lindsey or Nicole. Nobody said that about Anna Nicole. Nobody said anything about Chris Benoit when he was alive and beating his wife, hell even when OJ was accused of beating his wife before he killed her the story was swept under the rug at the time. Perhaps this negative affect towards Vick is backlash because of the OJ situation.
Now think about what all of the above; with the exception of OJ and Michael Vick athletes/ actors/artists//heiresses have in common...

With the plea bargaining and other deals going on, who really knows what's what. The Judge still has to decide his jail time and then the NFL will administer their punishment. Maybe the state of Virginia will impose their own charges? Vick will be back in uniform with some team within 3 years, providing they can't prove he bet on games. Betting is the key, look at the NBA and now tennis!

I hope the NFL bans him for life and never allows him to set foot on a NFL field. Only if that happens he would have gotten what he deserves. They may just turn around in a few years and allow him to play by lifting the suspension. This guy is nothing but a cruel gangster that does not deserve to be in the NFL making millions. He is not even sorry for what he did, he is only sorry he got caught and pleaded guilty only hoping that the commissioner would allow him to play. He is only trying to save his NFL career.

I don't. Michael Vick is a human being. What he did is definitely wrong, but at the same time, its not fair for people to crucify this man for this! hes not a career criminal, and has never been in truble before. But Lindsay Lohan will spend JUST ONE DAY IN JAIL after chasing people down highways at high speeds high on cocaine and endangering HUMAN lives, but vick kills a couple animals and people want him dead. The world is screwed up and i feel if Vick should be killed, then Lindsay Lohan should get it just as bad. Its sad how some people can do whatever they please and some get spit on like they were nothing..

Sounds like a start.
*jer-9610....just cause he never got caught before does not mean he is not a career criminal. He admitted to fightiin g dogs at least as far back as 2001. 6 years of knowingly financing and participating in an illegal activity definately qualifies as a career criminal. And according to his father, he had been doing it for a lot longer than that.
for all you idiots intent on defending him why don't you go to this link, from a Black columnist and get your facts straight.

Well, let me first start off by saying that I do NOT condone dog fighting. I think it's cruel and unnecessary. However, given the way that stars have been treated in the past, it puzzles me how the law has come down so hard on him. Lindsay Lohan stole a car and was found with cocaine, and she was given 1 day in jail. Plenty of stars do despicable things and get off scott-free. I just don't see why they singled him out for a charge that is not as bad in comparison to other stars' charges. I'm in favor of them equalizing the system and giving all celebrities the same treatment as regular people

I don't think he got enough. If you read the report from the NFL, his suspension if for an indeterminate time, not specified as for any length of time. Which means he could be playing as soon as the regular season starts, and given the fact he is black, and a high profile athlete, the naacp and the team will no doubt appeal his suspension.
Jail time? I seriously doubt it, more like probation.
I see many do not agree with my opinion of this case, which is your right, but I will add that part of my assesment is that when the final blow comes, it will be in the form of a fine, and jail time.
I believe that due to the crazy ways the laws are enforced, and the punishement decided by the courts, the jail time will be suspended and he will end up with probation and maybe at worst, house arrest.
His removal from the active rolls in the NFL will result in loss of millions of dollars in income, which his lawyers and the naacp will no doubt classify as "cruel and unusual punishment" in light of the vast amount of money involved compared to the loss suffered by an individual not connected to any high paying sports job, with a similar charge against them, and they would be probably right.

Yes but he should be fired also. The things he did are absolutely awful. Those poor animals didn't deserve that treatment. The NFL should also suspend players who abuse and beat their wives and girlfriends as well.

Legally, Micheal Vick got what he deserved. To be a star in the NFL, receiving tens of millions of dollars and choose to participate in dog fitting and other illicit acts is inexcusable.
However, despite his inexcusable actions, I don't think Vick deserves these little cheap shots by people who didn't even know who he was before the dog fitting scandal. This question, for example, mis-spelled Vick's name, (Not Vicks, Vick). I think it's immoral for our society to pull Vick down, when it was us in the first place that built him up; such an action makes us seem vicious.
