She had a good reason not to thank him. He agreed to pick her up and drive her someplace before a certain time. He was given an hour's notice. An hour and a half went by and he still hadn't left home. By the time he got her there, it was too late. Why would he expect her to thank him? He even admitted to her that he didn't try very hard.

I've lived with my bf for nearly 4 years now so yes, it is a normal thing for him to help out with my daughter.

So what is your question? Is your daughter right not to thank him, I wouldn't, and why is he calling you at work to complain about that? it couldn't have waited until you got home? Sorry it just sounds like there is more going on, is he jealous of your daughter or something? I dunno, I just don't understand why he would call you at work to complain about her not thanking him. It's hard without knowing you guys, but it really does sound like jealousy to me.

Well, he took her to that place, even although it was late. Yes, she should have thanked him, that was not his obligation to do that, he did it out of courtesy. He's not that girl's dad, right ?.
Do you treat your boyfriend like your employee giving him orders: to give your daughter a ride on a short notice. Do you think that he has nothing else to do but to wait for your orders ?. Do you need a boyfriend, or a driver?.
Grow up, lady, or your boyfriend will hit the road very soon ( I'd not blame him ).

It sounds like a good fight will come out of this. He is wrong!! If you tell someone you are going to take them somewhere, and do not attempt to do as you say, you are not showing common respect for another person. If you have been living with this man for four years, you would think he would care about your daughter. Is he always this inconsiderate of her feelings?

*shakes head* A thank you was not in order. Maybe a "thanks anyway, but next time I'll just have mom take me"

I can't believe he expected a thank you!
