I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the NC Labor Board allowes when it comes to being tardy. If I'm not mistaking I thought you had a least ten minutes to be late for a shift, anything after that their rules goes into effect. The reason why I asked because a company made someone go home because she was 2minutes late so she lost her shift for that day.

Nope. That's wrong. The employer can fire you for being 1 second late if he/she wishes. In fact, NC is an AT WILL state. That means they don't have to have a reason to fire you. They can indeed send someone home as well. She should be glad they didn't fire her.

No level of government should be involved with how a business interacts with its employees.
