the usual cause of a 90-92 accord not starting is a bad main relay. the main relay controls the fuel and ignition system and it is located up under the left side of the instrument panel roughly behind the coin tray.

when the interior temperatures rise from the car being parked in the sun all day the circuit board for the relay expands and breaks contact. when that happens the car will crank but not fire. Usually if you open the doors to vent the heat the relay will cool down and contract the circuit board so that eventually it will start.

if that sounds like your problem, change the relay and you'll fix it.

hope that helps

Hello, i also have a '92 Honda Accord LX. This "hondaguy" above me knows what he is talking about! He's a great help, i had the same problem, now that part he's telling you about is around $90.00 (i just bought one) But i took mine to the dealer, which is where you'll have to get the part, and had them install it for me for $40.00 My car starts great now. But if you can do it, please tell me how you did it..lol...i couldn't find that little thing for nothing and gave up :)

Or if you can't afford that part....you could try getting a can of "spray air" that you clean your keyboard with and when it won't start, spray that air right under the dash behind the coin thingy ;) Or just try that to make sure that's what your problem is without a shadow of a doubt before spending 90 bucks, good luck to you fellow Honda person!
