Ow. THAT must hurt. I mean, we use our hands for everything.

The only bones I ever broke were on other people.

JUST KIDDING!

I never hit anyone in my life and never broke any bones, either. Had some big falls where I felt like I broke a few!!

I broke a bone in my foot just walking across the grassy yard at a women's prison where I worked as a Correctional Officer in the year 1990. I was getting off of work and as I was leaving, walking to check out of work, I heard a cracking sound and felt pain in my left foot. I then had to sort of hop my way back to the cell block and up the stairs. An offender saw me and helped me the rest of the way across the room to a chair and then brought some ice to apply to my foot.

The break ended up being what is called a "Jones Break". It is one that is hard to mend. The doctors had to hospitalize me after the break would not mend and remove bone from my pelvis, grind it up and use the ground up bone along with a long medical screw to hold the foot bone in to place so that it would heal.

I think it is so odd that a bone could break just by walking across a yard of grass.

Anyway, I am wanting people to understand, also that there are some good people serving in prisons as offenders, that have made mistakes and are paying the price of those mistakes. They are not all "Bad" people, but have made some wrong choices, perhaps.

I guess I have to say no...knock on wood lol, but I really think I broke a bone in my foot several years ago! It just didn't show up on the x-ray right after it happened! I could feel it popping up & down & I had a limp for about 2 months! They said it was just torn ligaments, but I'm still not so sure! =D

I was putting a roll of carpet padding on a truck and it came down and crushed my head -- slamming my chin against the floor of the trailer. It broke the bone in my nose in two places. The doctor said it squeezed my head like an orange and it busted out in the middle.

Broke my toe twice. Once was a karate kick that's difficult to explain what went wrong. The other, I stubbed it.

Got my jaw broken while getting my wisdom teeth removed and my little toe broken twice, once by being stepped on by a horse the other time by accidentally smacking my foot into a door frame.

Hairline fracture of middle finger of the left hand and gone arthritic because I did not think it as broken so it did not heal right . I did not find out until a few years later.
