He may be able to register to vote before turning 18 an it becomes effective on his birthday.

Check the County Clerk who does the voter registration.

I'd try it and let them tell you know if it is no. They may also say ok. I registered at 17 and it became effective when I was 18. It was in Texas in the fall of 1970.

It depends on the laws of your state. He cannot register to vote until he is 18; the state laws establish how far in advance of an election a person must register to be eligible to vote in that election.

The presidential election is Nov 4, 2008. If your state requires voter registration at least 30 days prior to the election, your nephew will not be eligible.

He should be able to. In Wisconsin we are allowed to register at the polls on election day, but not every state has that.
Anyway, federal law allows 18 year olds to exercise the right to vote. Since it's in the Constitution, a state or municipality cannot have a law that abridges that right.

He should be able to. Some states, like Minnesota, allow for voter registration on the day of election. Most states have an earlier deadline, so your nephew should check with the local courthouse about voter registration. He might be able to register ahead of his birthday, as he will be of voting age by the time of the 2008 general election.

Most likely, since the voting is in December (right?). So I would say yes, since he actually IS (or will be) 18.

If he's registered yes.But I don't think he can register until he's 18 so there may be a time frame problem.
