yea...when i think too much..analyse...it will be overthinking condition...most likely lead to negative thoughts...because thnking of the extreme and the worst scenario....it wasnt too good.. as i know later...i try to halt my thinking to the good/positive part..and discontinue with the ugly part...its hard because my mind just run wild....
i believe society nowadays are prone to negatives - due to so many factors. eg. overpopulation, thinning of ozone layer, polution, social issues..it hard to say that now people are positive...

Science is telling us we have the emotional maturity of children. How we are behaving says the same thing. A child, who has temper tantrums and a bomb, is not a good thing. We've made a lot of advances in technology, but not in human nature until now, so the race is on. Can we grow up before we blow up? They've been predicting a mind shift for some time and it will take nothing less. If we want to die, than I suppose we are doing pretty good. The good news is that in history, it has always been darkest before the dawn and we have always managed to come through. This is the last one. So it's not good, but I wouldn't give up yet, as that would be a self fulfilling prophecy. If you read parts of the book 'Emotional Intelligence' and check out these videos, it may give you an insight you never had before, or it might not, but if you pick out what's true and leave the rest, you can dig it out, if you want. Basically we are operating out of the left hemisphere of the brain entirely too much, like a curse. Through intuition, techniques and what you already know, you can get right brained and it's a whole new world view, the mind shift, a whole new personality, the new one of the Christ and I think you can see an answer from there that isn't real available to left brain thinking. I think you'll love it. I know it's a lot, but please!! let me know what you think.

There are more negatives than positives in society. However, there is more than society. Outside of society, there are more positives than negatives. But good luck secluding yourself. The masses form together into a monster that grabs your leg from under your secure bed, when you think you're safest to bring you back to them. To make them greater than before.
However, although there are more negatives than positives, the positives are of greater value than the negatives. The negatives are more like little headaches that will grow into a killer migraine if we allow it. The positives are like a shining beacon to aim for, but perhaps never achieve. Isn't that hope, that journey the point, though?
Life is a journey itself. With no goals, how interesting would it really be? So, overall, it works. Let our goal be the impossible eradication of the negative. Thus, we produce a never ending goal and find ourselves happy with the journey, always active, and proud of our part in the world. The destination, ultimately, is death. Although we may find nothing there at all, we can die with a final thought, a final feeling of satisfaction.
If you pursue happiness, you are happy.

The final draft can only be done on a daily bases.Today no one I knew was shot, raped, in an accident hurt or killed so all and all,it was an OK day.My health didn't worsen,it was a good day.The world is still here and there's no anarchy in the streets, that's a plus.I think the positive out weighed the negative today, but, tomorrow is another story.

I am able to see reality of life with a naked eye. I see the happiness, the pain, the imperfections of our world and the beauty of human spirit. At the end of the day, I hope for the best. I chose to stay positive. It helps me to go through life with a smile and reach out to help someone to feel better, no matter how bad my day has been. The point is: being positive is a choice you make. It also makes you a happier person. I have learned that from a personal experience.

If it does not kill you, it makes you stronger. The old saw, but it is so true. I am not sure everything can be just 'lumped' together to make this type of distinction. Up and down, positive and negative, good and bad, are all part of a way of looking at what we call reality that relies very heavily upon the dualistic nature of language and meaning. It seems like a reasonable question, to ask whether everything added up is either positive or negative, but life is not mathematics, and there are many good things and bad things happening at the same time in our world that have no bearing on one another, except that they can be put into statements, with words, and with presumed meanings. Your first answerer said it best: that it is language and thinking that is either positive or negative, while what we call life is both.

The positives in life ( what ever they may be) are appreciated and valued much more when the negatives seem closer to overcome them. This reinforces one to try to research/find the root cause of given situations/conditions and find solutions to different problems in different areas of society , as the more one appreciate something, the more one make an effort to keep it.
This feedback helps sociologists to find ways ( to give experts) answers to solve problems in society before they worsen or threaten the existence of a given value/norm, culture or society as a whole.
If you look at everything as a full picture, it would be rather depressing because the speed of the negatives seem to spread faster than the acts to eliminate them.
It's best to have the attitude of medical staff in a busy hospital, you can only do the best you humanly can and keep your strength and mind, otherwise; you can't overcome what you are presently doing in a postive way.

Living day to day life we can get bogged down with all the negative aspects of life. Man, the bathroom line is sooo long, I got a "D" on my test, my email is down, there was a drive-by across town. This list could go on eternally. In the end when I make my totals.... positive wins. One way to think of it is, there are far more people trying to enter this country than there are exiting! There are many areas we can improve upon, but our less than stellar areas are still far better that 80% of the world population lives on the average day!

I think that someone's view of the world is effected by many things.
someone who is rich, is in perfect health, has a family, is well educated/has a career, etc... will most likely have an optomistic view of the world.
Also from day to day your view may change because of the situation, or things that occured that day.
Personally, i think that if you look closely, the world sees to be burning to the ground. But generally, we arent that bad of a species. Lol
Sometimes you just gotta cherish those small precious moments of love, hope, and security, and call upon them when everything seems to be falling apart.
"If you look closely, you'll end up finding no beauty in the world"

I am KC9LKS and my name is Mary. I have had a lot of bad in my life. I was abused by both step parents and went on to marry abusive men. Two years ago I walked away from that life. I am now married to a wonderful man(KC9LKW). Best of all, I am in college. I hope to be a police officer and help others. I am in my second year of criminal justice and love it. I still have bad days though because the man I left in 2005 will not leave me alone and the threats continue. I think there is good and bad in society. I also believe one person can make a difference and make things better. I want to help others like me become survivors. I took something bad and have used all my bad feelings to make something good. I used my time and energy to get good grades and think that is the best way to get even with all who have abused me.

The answer is simple and obvious every time a person reads a newspaper, listens to the news or simply observes society; as a human race we are definitely in a downgrade spiral with no end in sight unless people change the status quo approach to life on this planet.
People have the ability to change the destructive course the human race is in IF they will learn to value the lives of all others as they value themselves.
"Protecting one's own life and individuality without regard for the protection of others, creates fear, war, and destruction, while supporting life and guaranteeing Equality in the pursuit of individuality lays a foundation of Peace that leads to lasting happiness. This foundation must come from a worldwide effort that transcends nationality, race, religion, pride and personal ego, in order to address the human problem of inequality, hopelessness, and unhappiness."
