I live in the cockroach capital of the world and we use most any brand you spray on all the baseboards through out the house. We get great results.Bottom line, that is really all the pro's do a much higher price. Two or three times per year works fine.

Have you tried Bengal? That is the best spray I have ever used. To me it works like the professional stuff and it doesn't stink. When I moved into my house I bought two cans. I sprayed all the cracks and crevices and all around the outside of the house and inside the garage-the perimeter and cracks and crevices. I have lived in my house for about a year and a half and I only every once in a while have seen a roach. The big tree ones....we have a big oak tree. My mom, grandmother, and mother in law use it too.

Definitely boric acid, you can get it at most hardware or home improvement stores. When we moved to a new place I'd always put some out before I moved in. (couldn't use sprays due to sensitivities) I never had a problem again.
I wear gloves and a mask when using it and keep it where pets can't get into it. I take a straw and put it in out of the way places: behind appliances, into cracks, etc where you tend to see roaches.

There is a product called Diatamatious Earth. It's basically crushed sea shells. It's a great fertilizer and it will kill fleas and roaches. It cuts into their exoskeleton and they die. You can buy it at home improvement stores or at pool supply stores (as a filter ingredient).

Roach Motel was excellent.
They go in, get stuck, die. If they lay eggs inside, the tiny roaches also get stuck and die.
I used two of them 8 years ago. Only one or two roaches since.
How many dead roaches were inside ? About 50-60 in each, including hatchlings.
