I think vick should not be allowed to play for the 2007 and 2008 season he should be in jail or in suspension. However I think that he should be reinstated by the beginning of 2009 season. Mike Tyson was convicted of rape and he was not banned from boxing. Had Kobe Bryant been convicted of rape he would not have been banned from the nba. There are also people who had records when they are teenagers that are playing in professional sports now so why does Vick deserve to be suspended forever for a violent crime that is not even commited on a human being.

I agree. Vick shouldn't be suspended permanently. Everyone deserves a second chance. He should be suspended for a year, but not permanently.

He took the lives of 8 dogs and however many had to be put down. He was suppose to be a role model for kids, all he's done is prove to be a big freaking animal abuser. I don't really remember the Tyson case, and the girl that accused Kobe just wanted money. These animals have/had noone to speak for them, so we will!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABUSE OF ANY KIND SHOULD NEVER GO UNPUNISHED!!!!!!!!!! What that a** hole did to those poor pits is beyond cruelty to animals, it's barbaric. I hope the judge gives him the maximum punishment, and while in jail he get's his a** kicked everyday. Are you tellin us that what he did was okay? And who cares about what they did as teenagers? Their all adults now, that better know the difference between right and wrong. Not even commited on a human , that's just wrong, YOU IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Because they know they have Goodell in their back pocket. They know the NFL doesn't want a bunch of activists protesting outside their offices. The NFL wouldn't have suspended Vick in the first place except the activists protested, and Goodell folded like origami. You may not like to hear that, and choose instead to bjury your head in the sand, but that's the truth. The NFL doesn't hire Vick, the teams do, and ultimately it should be up to the teams whether to hire Vick after his debt to society is paid or not to do so.

I am not an animal activist and I am Begging for vick to get a life time ban from the NFL because he is a non-talented thug piece of crap. He was not a good QB he does not have any skills other than running and he was only a half decent running back. I don't like him because he is a THUG ad I want to see him banned for that!

"not even commited on a human being"-maybe society's values are wrong, but you just don't mess with puppy dogs. Yes, if he was a convicted rapist he might have a better chance to play again.

The thing is, people will forgive drugs and violence, etc. as human weakness but obviously Vick knew exactly what he was doing when he organized a dog-fighting ring for fun and profit. There's no way Vick can claim, "I couldn't help myself, I'm sick" like even a pedophile or wife-beater plausibly could. It's not like there is a 12 step program for people like him.

I think its all based on the heinous nature of the crime. While dogfighting itself may be bad, hearing that Vick and co. killed dogs in such gruesome ways doesn't sit well with many people. Especially in a country where the dog is so beloved. Dogs show an amount of loyalty and love toward man that many people seem to care and be more sensitive to the animal than their own kind.

Dogfighting is just such a gruesome sport that seems far worse than things like conspiracyt to murder(Pacman Jones).

Because most of us don't want to turn on our television or go to a game on Sundays and look at the face of a man who we know has tortured, starved, hung, drowned, fought, shot, beat, and killed dogs for the last 5 years (or more according to his father, see link below) Most of us cannot stomach the idea of 1 red cent of our money going in his pocket.

Oh, and btw, it isn't just animal activists calling for this. Many everyday people are calling for this as well.

Mike tyson did a pretty long jail sentence, didn't he? Vick needs to do his time and then we will see. I personally think his problems run very deep and unless he gets serious counseling he will do something else to further aggravate his suspension. Cruelty to animals is often a sympton of a serious mental problem--see bios of most serial killers.

Anyway, if he does turn his life around, then I don't think he should be suspended indef, but definitely all of 2007 and maybe 2008.

I think what's so funny is how people are more in an uproar about a guy that killed dogs than say OJ Simpson who killed his wife.

But then again OJ didn't electrocute or drown his wife after she failed to win a brutal fight against another woman. I really don't know how I feel about all this.
