lot of people wonder how they can stop biting their nails. There are a few tricks you can use to stop nail-biting.
A. Unless you want to go the hypnosis route, which some people swear by, you do have a couple options other than sheer willpower. One is to apply the very disgusting (and therefore, highly successful) nail biting cream like Control It!), which you paint onto your nails. It tastes so bitter you won’t dare bite them. A new product on the market which doesn't taste any better, but is definitely worth trying is Jessica 'Nibble No More,' a no-nail-biting polish with bitter cactus extract as its secret ingredient ($5 at jessicacosmetics.com).
Another option is to keep your nails painted. My friend Lisa swears a pricey manicure keeps her biting at bay & she suggests the brighter the color the better.

Okay, once you break the habit, you should be good. It takes around 3 weeks to finally break one, I've heard.
Try gloves, tape, tabasco sauce, or an elastic aroudn your wrist. Whenever you go to bite them, snap it.
Or you could try this nail polish (I got mine at walmart) that taste awful. However, I got used to it. I'm a severe nail biter still.
Or, if you have the money, get gel nails put on. This way, after four weeks or so, you can remove them and have long nails underneath. They cost anywhere from 25 - 50 bucks for the first set, and 10 - 25 for fills. Ask around. :).
I've tried all fo these, and still nothing. The best way I found so far was the fake nails, as I had no choice but not to bite. Good luck!

I had it all my life, but I quit like almost 2 years ago.
It's really hard to break a life time habit.
The only way is if you're commited to break it and if you want pretty nails really badly!!
I bought Sally Hansen nail growth miracle clear nailpolish (gold bottle) and my nails started to look normal in like a week and a half. I also bought like different colors of pretty nail polish to remind myself that I can have paint them once its grown. You can also get a manicure at nail salons without being ashamed or embarassed!
best of luck<3

You can paint your nails and then when you bite them you will get the taste of nail polish in your mouth (which doesn't taste very good) Or you can go to the nail salon and get acrylics. You'll be able to have long nails and you cant bite them off.
Good luck!

They make nasty tasting nail polish just for nail biters. That's how my sister broke her son of nail biting. You may just have a chewing thing. Try gum, or taffy or something like that...
Good luck!

Get acrylic tips. To start, they're $28, and $14 about once a month to fill. I defy you to chew on that! And you'll have beautiful nails for 3 months.

Put clear nail polish on them. Then they will taste icky and will remind you to stop biting them. You can also like chew a piece of gum..so it would be nasty if you bit your nails while chewing gum.
