Braiding??

Question

Does anybody know how to braid 9 strand braid with string?

You mean so all 9 are independently active in the braid? No. If you just need to braid 9 strands, I'd make 3 bunches of 3 and braid that way.

If you think about it, braiding is really a type of weaving. If you're braiding only a few strands, start with the strand on the far right. Take it over the next strand, then under the next, then over, then under, etc. Since you're trying to braid nine strands, you might want to start at about the third or fourth strand from the left and braid it over to the far left, then do the same with the next strand and the next until you're working with the one on the far right.

Essentially, it doesn't really matter how many strands you're working with, the motions are the same. It does, however, become exponentially more difficult to keep track of all the strands as you add more and more.

I would think it might be better to practice first on something with 4 or 5 strands and work your way up to nine. Good Luck!!
