Why do sports fans and athletes share common identities?

I see them on the field, i see them in the bleachers. A whole gaggle of them.
Short cropped hair.
Baseball Cap .
Mustache.
Chin beard.
Whats up with this look ?
A lot of times they have to have shades to go along with it .
Is it like an unwritten law to look like this now?

People tend to imitate people they admire and look up to. If it makes them feel good to have an appearance like someone they admire, celebrity or not, they will do it. Younger sibs imitate their older sibs all the time, that is a perfect example!
