I'm always shifting in my chair.
I think it has to do with comfort. Most office chairs are not very comfortable and you just have to move around a bit to stay comfortable.

When I get really bored I spin myself around in my chair and what a head rush that is! I can barely stand up! try it with your eyes closed :)

I have two computers on my desk and am always moving left and right. You should see the tracks in the carpet.
