In this short Life
That only lasts an hour
How much -- how little -- is
Within our power

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul.
And sings the tune
Without the words,
and never stops at all
-Emily Dickinson

I was facing a school bus, stop sign out, mother talking to the driver through the door. Patiently I waited for one minute, two, then I began to get a little irritated, my hope of being "on time" fading. About ready to back up and go around the block, a smiling young man about 7 or 8 in leg braces took his mom's hand and slowly, unsteadily climbed out of the bus and across the street. I cried with sorrow at my own selfish impatience, but in the hope of finding my way. peace

There is no hope (for this planet)
Hope,
It feeds on brainwave energy not from its carrier but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centres of the brain which has supplied them.
But then only dull stuff emits.
