Gerry decides to lecture Europe on not looking after their children as well as he would like. From his blog:

"Although very serious cases like Madeleine’s (stereotypical kidnapping) are rare, it is very difficult to determine the scale of the problem, as there is no consistency in data collection across Europe. We agree with two leading British Charities (PACT and missing persons) that such data have to be collected with greater accuracy so that the frequency of serious crimes against children can be reliably documented- ideally such data should be available across the EU. Europe is probably 25 years behind the USA in such regard."

Toietmoi - May 3 was what? Less than 4 months ago?

Did Gerry McCann study Child Abductions and Child Protection laws at university? Im guessing no.

In fact, I would be pretty confident that Gerry's total sum knowledge of it would be less than 4 months worth. Yet somehow he knows so much more than every other child protection authority. And his plans are Europe wide? Give me a break.

He can't say very much himself cos he made the biggest mistake of his life by neglecting his own flesh and blood. If Madeleine and the twins were not neglected Madeleine would still be here.

He would need to brush up on his parenting skills to protect the twins.

Protecting children is not about leaving them alone while you go off to drink wine and dine and chat with your friends!

We don't know what happened to Madeleine and no proof has come out at all that Madeleine was even abducted it's all specualtion for right now so where does he gets all these lectures and why the hell isn't he helping in a search party???

I couldn't really give a rats butt what his comments are, but I think the way UK & other European countries handle missing children/people is behind the times. Having been to the US recently, I was amazed when walking into shopping centres (malls) that they all had a dedicated area with pictures of missing children/adults and their details. Same with petrol stations and restaurants. When I watched a discovery documentary the other day, they actually have a network system of faxing all the details of the missing/abducted person, so it hits every train station/petrol station/restaurant etc straightway.
This country could certainly do with following that example, not just for the McCann case but for others too. Its all about pulling together & standing up for the victims and thats one thing this country isn't very good at doing.
Its a shame that he's had to under go a very painful experience to be able to comment, i'm surprised he has the time when he's supposed to be looking for his daughter...

We're at a lecture on Stereotypical Kidnapping given by Gerald "I am Famous" McCann. He has just finished speaking and now it's question time:

Joe Soap: "So Gerry, can you tell me why you left your children alone that night?"
Gerry: "Er, och, do you want suing or what?"
Jill Soap: "Can you tell me how you can see the apartment from the inside of a Tapas Bar, 50 yards away (across a swimming pool, 150 yards on foot), with an 8-foot wall in the way topped with foliage?"
Gerry: "It's my opinion that I have not changed my opinion in 16 weeks"
John Doe: "You didn't check on those kids at all did you? Mrs Fenn upstairs heard your child screaming for Daddy between 10 30 and 11 45 two nights before she went missing. So where were you then?"
Gerry: "Och I have long sleeves on my sweater now and a better haircut and I may have to sue you"
Jill Doe: "How were you so certain none of the kids would wake up when you left them, like the twins didn't despite 20 people milling about after the disappearance? Did you give them sedation?"
Gerry: "I think that will be all for now. We will sue you all"

QED. He doesn't sound at all guilty does he? And this neglectful "Parent" wants to lecture others? He should stick to the demerits of colossal wine imbibing

Here is a ground breaking concept in child protection -

Don't leave 3 kids under 4 sleeping in an unlocked room in a forgein country so you can go out and stuff your face with Tapas and wine.

Gerry McCann is a fully fledged idiot, he and the (I am so thick I don't know how I became Doctor) wife of his are as guilty as the people who took her. Let's face it if the child had not been left alone she would still be around now. What gives this man the right to talk on a subject about which he knows nothing. He would be better employed in lecturing on the evils of alcohol abuse, a subject closer to his heart.
Good on the USA for their work in this, we will catch up, eventually.
I still want to see the McCanns prosecuted for child neglect when they do eventually dare to come back to the UK.

Natalie Holloways mother was thousands of miles away from where her daughter disappeared but it stop her from trapsing town to town, village to village, city to city in search of her baby......
Where does he get off on this?

yea...i'm sorry but why throw the blame at other people ? 'Europe' never brought in a law that said you have to leave your kids alone
