it's for my project, if I can't add something to rid of the foul smell what type of container should I use that would keep the smell in? Any other suggestions to lessen the smell without altering the substance that would remove the urine's original chemical compound? ^___^

I will keep it in a container for a week.

Without chemically altering it, I don't see how you can actually change its smell. You can mask it or dilute it with another substance, but its smell will still remain.

Well, I don't know how long you have to keep the urine for, but really the only thing to do that won't appreciably change the chemical structure(although time will do that as much as chemicals) is to keep it in the fridge. Any airtight container will do. But if you need to determine chemical nature, you should do the tests as soon as possible after collection, since urine rapidly produces ammonia, which changes the whole composition.

The odor is a result of numerous causes. To kill it off ruins the specimen.

Use a glas vial or thick wall polyethylene vial to contain it.

I thought everyone knew this one. You can make it completely Stealth. Eat a can of Asparagus, and try and find it. Even the dog won't know what's going on. It's like febreeze on stale shirts.
