Yes, but some of them have to be unrealistic benchmarks like the ones they have imposed on the Iraqi government.

That is funny. Of course our congress as well as the Iraq congress are made up of individuals with different agendas. Any bench marks picked by a majority of Democrats would still be opposed by other Democrats and probably many Republicans. It's a slow business, this representative government thing. Saddam was able to get things done much quicker. He met his benchmarks. But I don't think we want that kind of government. Who knows what Iraq wants. The politics in that part of the world seems to be violent, illogical and intolerant of any opposing views.

No and no. However, it is only fair that the Iraqi Congress should set bench marks for the USA Congress to meet in order to assure a stable republic in Iraq.
