Does 'the way i are' make sense? Am i just thick or something? or does the way i are not make sense and should it be 'the way i am'.

of course you are right. it's SUPPOSE to be "the way I am" but that's just not how they wanted it to be I guess. ANDDD. . .in the chorus, after keri sings her line, then the guy does, it sounds like he's saying "the way am are" - not "way I are". maybe it's just me. lol
either way, i LOVE that song.
Also, why is everyone giving a thumbs down on almost all of the answers? that's so gay! it seems like a good question. lol

Timbaland didn't named his song The Way I Am, because of 2 reasons. The first reason is that he made a grammar mistake, and the 2nd reason is that there is so many songs with the name of The Way I am so he felt he wanted to be creative and wanted to try something new. The remix featuring Francisco does contains the words The Way I Are. The remix is slightly better the original, and it's longer.

its slang and supposed to be talk that shows hes from the ghetto and therefore gangsta and uneducated. also the slang is a part of jive and just a cool way to talk... like using "ain't" instead of isn't or aren't

I thought it would be "The WayYou are" because it ablout liking someone else for who they are no matter what they do or don't have.
