on the Auburn/LSU thing.. the correct call was "Defensive Holding" which would have been a 1st down.. but remains it really didn't affect the outcome as LSU receiver was tackled on the 5 when time expired.. I do however agree it is and will remain one of the great NCAA games.. in a word.. Vicious and some of the hardest hitting I've ever seen

the year texas defeated arkansas and prersident nixon declared the longhorns national champions. he screwed an undefeated penn state team, that just may have been the best team in the country that year. penn state fans couldn't even blame the pollsters. it was just another of tricky dick's screw jobs.

I don't think the 2006 AUBURN-LSU call was a bad call.
Their so-called great team and savior Jamarcus Russell could only muster up 3 points, come on. It was ruled an uncatchable ball, which it definitely was.
I'll tell you a hose job call, 1995 in Baton Rouge.
AUBURN at LSU. LSU had a 12-6 lead and AUBURN was trying to score the go ahead touchdown and some cheating LSU idiot blew a whistle in the endzone where AUBURN was.
Patrick Nix stopped running the play, thinking the Refs stopped the play, and was sacked to end the game.
The refs were right there and didn't even call it.
SEC officials are pathetic. College referees should be held accountable just like the NFL and quit being a bunch of good ole boys!
Don't even get me started about the 2004 AUBURN year and Oklahoma!

There are several. The Missouri fifth down to beat Colorado. The mystery call against Miami playing Ohio State. The hosing that Oklahoma got at Oregon. The missed time out call that allowed Notre Dame to tie Army 0-0.

October 6th, 1990. Due to an officiating error, Colorado gets a 5th down on the goaline against Missouri and scores a touchdown on the play as time expired to win the game 33-31. Colorado ended up splitting the National Championship with Georgia Tech that year. Without that bad call, Colorado would have had 2 losses and GT would have had sole possesion of the National Title.

Oct.6,1990. Colorado at Missouri
Colorado scored the winning TD on 5th down to beat Missouri 33-31.It also allowed Colorado to win the National Championship. The 5th down was allowed because the referee holding the down marker did not change the downs on one play which gave them 5 downs. It seems to me voters would have taken this into consideration. This gets my vote as the worst call in College football.
Last years Auburn-LSU game was and on replay is still too close to call. Both teams had an argument on that play.LSU still probably would not have scored anyway.I would have been disappointed if that game came down to that call.It was one of the best games in NCAA history.
[EDIT]Come to think of it Oklahoma-Oregon probably was the worst, because they even reviewed the play and still did not over rule the play.

Ohio State getting the ridiculous pass interference call in the end zone against Miami in the National Championship game a few years ago. Literally took the championship away from Miami.

The Colorado 5th down was 2nd-worst.
Oregon v Oklahoma is the worst call because the ripple effect from that call will still be seen this upcoming season and perhaps beyond that.

The year Tulane went undefeated and couldn't play for the national championship. They were ranked high than Boise St. was when they went undefeated.

Remember the fifth down in Colorado's championship season. Mizzou had them beat how can a referee not know how many downs a team has used.
