Dell Inspiron 8100 Laptop no power thru converter?

Question

My Dell laptop works alright off of the battery ,which is dying out
I t will not work off of the AC power converter

I tried another known good Dell power converter and still no luck
Dell website offers very little help

Can the power port behind the laptop be bad?

Any known websites?

wiggle the cord wher eit plugs into the laptop,, those connectors inside are known to come loose.
I just fixed one for a friend not long ago. Then later the power converter died.
